Question Rims

Most of you know I have an 87 924s project. Well right now she had 18" Moda rims on her. I am replacing the suspension with one from an 86 951. I assume I will need spacers to make these fit. Any ideas what I will need to buy. I noticed that there are already stock spacers that are about 1 inch thick on the 951 hub.

I don't recall "stock" spacers on any car. I may be wrong though...... I suspect it's the PO of your 951 suspension who's had aftermarket or updated wheels on there, and the spacers have been left on. Lucky you. That's hopefully another saving you just made!

Sweet!!!!

Free Car
Free sport seats
Free Rims w/tires (and spacers)
I am keeping track of everything I have spent and I am around $3000 right now. That takes care of about 90% of what I need to finish her.

That's not a spacer, it's the hub itself. The little bolts in between the studs are to hold the brake-rotor on.

Okay so I am an idiot . Looked like a spacer, But back to my original question. Will I need a spacer to use the 18" rims on an 86 hub?

I would say you would want to if you are going wide body... I think it best to determine the mm spacing based on that.

I will let you know. I need to install the suspension first and see what I need. But next weekend we are building the engine, and I need to send my struts off to Paragon to get the koni setup they have listed which will have to wait for about a month. I can only hide so much fun money from the wife per month.. (I am glad she does not read this forum)

Has anyone ever tried machining down the 86 951 hub to remove about 1/8" to 3/16"? I would like to push my fronts in about this much and still retain the hubcentric design. The hub appears to have sufficient material for the modification.
