MXL data logger - trial install
Just finished the test install of my mxl datalogger. I'm only running the basic inputs at this stage - speed, rpm, lap timer but will add oil pressure and water temp to the display as soon as I get the leads.
Plan is to add tps, brake pressure and steering once I've got my head around the basics - should give us something to do while waiting for the next run

George,
Nice looking install.
I have been running the MXL Pro now in my car since the MXL came out. I have all channels connected.
It is very easy to use.

I need to reconcile the differences between the MXL and standard instruments - got a 10% speed difference and 100revs @ 3000rpm to resolve

yeah - always nice to know which side of the line the errors fall - before you bury it into the rev limiter or sail past a speed camera on the open road.....................

most likely - but by how much.
I do not know if the MXL has any error in it - I've run regression across dyno rpm/speed numbers and can only conclude that slip increases with rpm under load situations.
Variation in tyre circumferences (worn SO3 1971mm, new DZ02 2005mm) only account for a small amount <2% - less concerned with speed though
I'd prefer to know if the tacho over-read by 200rpm at the factory redline and the limiter is around 6840 indicated - likewise if the MXL has any error before I set the triggers.
It would have been so much easier if they were both inaccurate by the same amount

not too exotic on price either. After speaking with a number of people and reading stuff it seemed the way to go and the software looks pretty sharp.
Just have to sort the drivers brain out now.
also, theres a number of threads on the race forum
