Default OT: E46 Beemer workshop manual Info

Since the turbo guys are probably the best at digging up info (and dirt) I'm hoping someone can help me on this. I need some type of useful workshop manual for an E46 (00 323I 4 door), specifically info on trans R&R. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Bentley has a manual for the E46 - I'd recommend it, Bentley are some of the best manuals available.

I have a 00 323ci too. Try the Bentley book. Also check out roadfly.com for common problems.

Thanks guys, I checked out the bentley book but it doesn't have a lot of internal auto trans info that I can see. I'm looking into a 323I but the trans has no reverse. All the forward gears work fine. I checked in the bimmer forums and a few guys have had the same thing happen but they seem to be mechanical morons. The owner of the car took it somewhere and they said his high presure line was probably and I also belive they are solonoid controlled as well. I was hoping to get some type of internal diagram to see what's in there and if it's worth my time.

Sam, I'm not sure of the trans model but it's a 4 door and I believe the 4 door trans is shared on some GM models as well.

Jim, some of them seem to know a lot about turbo charging a M3, but still have to have thier oil changed at jiffy lube. Sounds like a guy we have over here, care to take a guess? I posted a question over there about it and one of the "experts" asked me if I had checked the shifter linkage. I wish I could have kicked him in the *** through the computer. A few others told me they had the same problem and just quoted the repair bill. When I told them it was only a trans they acted like I was Nova owner because I wanted to fix it myself. It's only a transmission................

Looks like that car came with either the A5S325Z or the A5S360R.
