Default 968 Turbo S

Does anyone know exactly how many Porsche made, how many were sent to the US and has anyone seen one/driven one? Thanks.

Your best bet is to contact Konstantin, he's a member. He owns a 968T, and he is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to 968T. Also, some info on the 968.net forum as well as the 968 list..

The figures I've seen say that there were either 13 or 14 968 Turbo S "street" cars produced by Porsche, all sold in Europe. Porsche never went through the federalization process to bring that model into the US as they were in the midst of plummeting sales volumes. There also were four 968 Turbo RS race cars produced, at least on of which is in the US, currently residing in Texas, I believe.

Some folks have created some very nice 968 Turbo S replicas using a collection of original factory parts.

I believe the famed Jason, of Paragon Parts, owns one of the real ones.

PS. If one had to zero in on a single car as the rarest and most collectible of all 944 variants it would probably be a toss-up IMO between the Boss LeMans 924 GTP and this baby right here. The other day I saw an old factory publicity picture of 100 homologation 924 Carrera GT's all red lined up on the factory lot. I sorta viewed them as rare, but not by comparison to this one.

That car looks better, well I think, with the set of Fiske wheels that also came with it but Jason found a couple with cracks. They were replaced with new ones from Fiske. I had a bunch of interior and engine pics of it but lost them when my old laptop died from a concrete encounter

Jason has #4.

There is/was one 968TRS in New Orleans. I believe that it was the only one to race Lemans but I could be wrong.

I have been asking for that piece for AGES... everytime the CF or fibreglasser of the month appears and makes claims they can make xyz easy, then they vanish. It SHOULD be a relatively easy piece to make, I would buy one... do you think another thread is warranted to try and get this piece made?

You would think that GT racing would be good a manufacturer to try with all of their P-car items in play already.
