We are fabricating all of the pipes anyway.

Helstrm: You are more/less correct with that spool time (1 bar at roughly 3,300rpms or so) with that A/R and turbin trim.......it is similar to a KKK #8 hotside used in various applications. But the T4 should be a better in terms of backpressure and efficiency.

Helstrm: Since you are fabricating pipes, get you're self a 3" downpipe. It makes wonders in spool, backpressure and adds a few more ponies as well (experience talking!)

"Skylines are reputably not as quick as 944 turbo's anyway so no need to panic."

On the track, NO Way, but on straight line...WOW!! They will eat up the most fine tuned 1/4 monsters

AR 60 is the compressor housing. Turbo shop said it was .57 and the hotside is .60

Off the line I know I will be slow but once I hit about 3300 rpms it should scream...... And I won't run out of boost, Hell if I don't like it I will take it off and sell it. then buy another one for myself.

I am running the Lindsey Super 75, which is TO4E with 67 comp wheel. A good bit of lag, but still have stock down pipe and AFM. Hoping to tune some of the lag out of it.

Helstrm: So you have a T04E 57 trim with AR .60 on the compressor side and a T4 .60 AR stage 3 T3 trim.........looks good for 400hp or so.

toddk911: The turbocharger you have is capable of making gobs of power, real world. I have seen dyno charts of that turbocharger with MAF, Wastegate, exhaust......the "bolt ons" and getting very nice curves and power. If memory serves correctly, i remember a gentleman who replaced his bad lifters with good used ones and got 1bar at 3,000rpms (stock head & block). That gentleman is going for a solid lifter set-up, but generally speaking he "freshened up" the valve-train a bit and saw a decrease in spool by 800+rpms.......

toddk911:

How are ya pal? What is mostly your application for the car? And, what is your KKK # hotside? I am curious. You may want to really consider a 3 inch downpipe. PM me if you need help.

Don't go racing any heavily modded Skylines in straight line guys, or you are going to be removing someone's boot from your ***.

(yes his car revs to about 11,500rpm!) at the drag strip against a good driver you don't stand a chance but put in the real world, driving on the road the massive low end torque of the 951 just leaves them. I'v seen them struggling to pickup then wham! Massive power for about 3seconds with no traction and they have to change up!!

Ben
Dude, I hate to call BS on you buuuuut:
Horsepower and torque are directly related by rpm at ~5200 rpm ft*lb of torque= 1hp and you say that this car is making *less* than 300 ft*lbs of torque. So lets round up and say the car is making 300 ft*lbs then 300*11,500/5200=663.5 hp so the Skyline would only be making 663 hp. Or let's look the other way if he is making 980hp then 980/(11,500/5200)=443 ft*lbs. Thusly the skyline would be making 443 ft*lbs of torque. All of this assumes that the car is making peak torque at peak redline which is pretty unlikely, nearly every turbo car drops at least 5% of it's torque by redline which means that the skyline would be making at least 465 ft*lbs at peak torque, which I don't know about you but I still find respectable. I imagine that you are correct that the car does not make much low end torque (below around 5k rpm), but to say that a 465 ft*lbs car has no torque may be pushing it.

So remember everyone, check you units and conversions before posting, someone may call you out.

If you do consider a 3" down pipe here are your options I know of

http://www.speedforceracing.com/prod...tomexhaust.php $349

LR sell them for $399.

Have fun with that turbo mate! PM me how it goes. You will no doubt be changing specs as you find out the exact characteristics you want...

$399 for a downpipe!!!!???? Hell no.. I will fabricate mine. A little welding and bending and the pipe costs about $5 per foot.... A little time on a mill and blamo!!!!

I can find much better uses for $399 like a new wastegate.
