The lenses on my Phaeton are plastic, both the head lamps and the fog lamps and they project light very well..... Pretty sure that the Touareg and the Cayenne are plastic as well. Can remember for sure, but I think that my Boxster S had plastic head lamps as well.

the down payments we need at this point are for the side markers, especially the front ones being that we already have 2. The down payments are 10$ and once we have 5 down payments (5 garantied sell) we can go into production.

we would also need a donor lens. do the side markers detach from the housing easily? we would need the lens only sent to us.

now what exactly does S2 stand for? what year did they span?
sorry if this sounds stupid but do these lenses fit ''normal'' 944, as opposed to 944S2, if so can i get the year span.

just trying to get good information so when others ask i know what to answer and so i can display all this info on the site when i put them up for sale.

Years for the S2 is 89-92. Whats it stand for? Sport 2? I don't really know. I don't think it matters, as long as you put S2 people will understand.

The ones for the 944 (83-87) that you have on your site will also fit the 944 S (87-88).

I am out on a biz trip but should be home Friday for the day, and will be heading off to Sturgis on Sat. IF (big "if") I get a chance, I will send a set of side markers on Friday and I will remember to send in two down payments in with it, so we will only need one more down payment to make a go of this. Otherwise, I can send the samples in after I get back on the following weekend.

I dont care what they look like to be honest.. or what it does to the light beam.. I dont really use my fog lights..

110-120 is ALOT for a hunk of plastic.. i am pretty sure klears could do alot better on the price for those guaging off the others they have done..

my other argument is the fact that I am not horribly interested in buying the OEM crap.. why? BECASUE ITS JUST THAT.. CRAP! they chip, crack, break, shatter ect..

so you spend $250 for the oem crap and a few years down the road you find yourself doing it again...

I am jsut looking for something that covers that area of the car, wont get messed up, and isent insanly overpriced like the oem stuff..

At that point, why not just make some blank-off plates and replace the foglight assemblies with them? If you want it to look stockish GT-Racing sells decals to go over the blank-off plates that look like fog-lights. If you don't use them, why have them there?

My point is that the fog light lenses are more complicated than the turn-signal lenses (Take off the foglight lens and a turn signal lens, and compare them, especially in the area where the foglight lens mates to the bucket that houses the light). Based on the price of the turn-signal lenses in this group buy, they aren't going to be significantly cheaper than the OEM. You could purchase new OEM lenses and then get some clear protector material, that would help protect them from chips and marks.

i want you guys to have a look at these pics
so far we cant get 100% perfect lenses. the inside edge is a bit rough, its the best we can do to make sure they will fit well. if you want perfect you can pay 150 from the other guy.

Ours are 80$ and look great from the outside. This is not usualy how we do things but i think some of you might still like to buy these for the price.

I want to make a note that we wont have this problem with the side markers or any other normal lenses. its those long lips that are causing us problems.
