Fuel Line?
Ok Im just about to order some SS fuel lines and I was wondering if you also need to buy some kind of heat wrap for it since the stock ones have a rubber hose around and its also right above the headers. Anyone had any problems with this?

Yea I saw those but is it really necessary? I have seen pics of engine bays with just the ss line without those. Would keeping the fuel colder gain any performace? If it does then I might as well get those too. How many feet would I need?

I don't know if they are really needed, but i guess even SS gets hot from the exhaust manifold and yes, i also seen engine bays with SS fuel lines w/o these "sleeves".
These are packed in 3', im just guessing here, but i believe that is all you need. But we could measure and check to make sure.

Your problem is solved with these high quality good-looking lines. You cut into your existing lines inside the wheel well (metal tubing at that point). The length provided makes it very easy to re-route your lines further away from the header than the stock lines. Taking my time it took around two hours to install (while drinking a generous amount beer). Approximately 150.00. Good Luck .ed

Ed - do you have any pictures of those lines, or maybe a website? I googled them and came up dry. Thx.
Edit: I did some more searching and came up with this link: http://www.the928registry.org/direct...login=pauerman
And these pictures:
Looks pretty sweet to me...

Yep that's them. However, I cut mine in above the bracket that allowed me to route the lines closer to the firewall. By the way, Pauer gives excellent customer service.

The problem with that line is that it is very sneaky - it wants to kill you.
If you remove it, or disconnect one end and straighten it, even for a second, you will completely rip apart the INSIDE of the radius. This is NOT OBVIOUS, until you are toasting marshmellows. Watch it.

Yeah Special has a great point there... I got the SFR SS lines, great quality and zero issues at all. If I had more money I would go for the pauerman lines for sure next time. Dont worry about that covering... a vendor may recommend it because they want to sell it! Derrrrrrr!

Andy: The issue of the thread was when tb311 is concerned with the heat from the exhaust manifold and the two fuel lines running over them.
Tb311 was asking about if you need anything or CAN something be done, i merely suggested what is available out there.
Now, if this thread was regarding vendor recommendation on THAT specific "sleeve", you're post would make sense to me.

To me, it really doesn't matter who makes the lines or who makes the sleeves. When I buy new lines - OEM rubber, aftermarket rubber, internally braided, externally braided, stainless... *whatever*... they will get thermal wraps on them. Heat and fuel are a bad combination.
