Ok I decided to go with the pauerman lines mainly because they move the connection down to the wheel well. And as for the heat wraping I will probly do that later once I finish everything else that needs to be done to the car. I'll post pics and let you guys know how it goes once I get it done.

Like i said this is not ALWAYS the case, just my experience in that area.

And while you're at it, have a look at the starter main power cable insulation - that'll wear off and light your *** up, too. (after a couple clutch jobs that Jack built)

BTW: Yes that positive cable does indeed have the insulator worn out and do plan on replacing it with Ice Shark's +ve cable, if he get's it going. Just waiting to get my salary LOL.
