Default Just Purchased - 1989 951!

Hello all,

Great to be a 951 owner again! Just picked up a 1989, Black/Black completely stock. The only thing missing is the tool kit. Anyone have a source for these?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Rennlist and the boosted world!

As for the toolkit, I honestly would not bother unless you want the authenticity. You can get them on eBay, but I went with a canvas bag full of stuff you find in that toolkit, plus a bunch of other useful things. If you get into doing stuff yourself, that toolkit no longer becomes enough.

You've got to admit that spark plug wrench in the stock kit is pretty handy! And the lug nut wrench, and the reversible screwdriver, and the...

Actually, my point was that you need alot more than what's in the tool kit -- in addition to the tool kit, I keep with me a real ratchet with (6mm head head, 10mm, 13mm, 15mm, 17mm, 19mm sockets and 24mm deep), 3inch extension, wrenches (10mm, 13mm, 15mm, 17mm), tire gauge, duct tape, electrical tape, bag of spare bolts and a flashlight. And they've come in handy!

Is that the car that was in AutoTrader, owned by a guy named Scott?? VIN ended in 1380, as in five from the last US car in '89.

Nice, but what do you use for spark plugs? Box wrench and fish them out?

Rob 3 - I run the Lola with VARA - got to love those 45 car fields!

Lou - Yes, it was Scott's car. Do you know it?

All - What a great board, lots of fast responses. Thanks for your help. Looks like I'll be trolling Ebay. I'll get pictures up soon!

Welcome Chuck,
I have a complete (I think) tool kit if you want it. I pretty much take a toolbox full of stuff to the track now anyway and it hasn't left my basement in 4 years.
