Actually the 2.6 liter size is the size limit for GT3 class for PCA club racing. That’s why the one motor is going to be 2.599999 liters.
Why so small? It could really be 2.6153846 liters. (3.4/1.3)

The valve reliefs are different on the 16v vs the 8v. The size of the inverted dome is also different due to the different combustion chamber cc’s.

The MID selves completely replace the stock cylinder – there are know as ‘wet sleeve’ because the out side of the sleeve is in the coolant. The previous method is call dry sleeving – some of the original cylinder is intact and the new sleeve is press fit inside.

question regarding the design (being an inquisitive ME student) What is the purpose of the circumferential grooves? The small holes along the upper flange? Looks neat!

My best guess is that the circumferential grooves might aid in heat transfer and the holes allow for coolant to flow next to the head.

Okay, so if they completely replace the cylinder, why the size limitation? I thought the 2.5's and the 3.0's shared the same block?

Chris if it's interchangable la Peugeot style, how do you
control the bottom from moving since it's not interference
fitted. For low power application it may not be a problem
but for high power ????

Chris feel free to snap some pics of the machining/install. Also, how did the block clean up?

Pretty much yes. I don't want to throw all the $$$ at it all at once. So I will run this turbo for a while before I go to a GT series. Should be hella quickspool.

Is ME an acronym for Mechanical Engineering where you are?
