GT2 intercooler Vs. 951 intercooler
Any idea of how one of the intercoolers from a GT2 would compare to a 951 intercooler? I would think it would work better for a moded 951 than the stock intercooler, but I know that in the GT2 it is only one of two intercoolers and I belive the turbo it's cooling is smaller than most aftermarket trubos for the 951. Anyone have any info?

I think people are having a hard time visualising what you are trying to do.
There are already aftermarket FMIC options out there that are proven to work...
www.speedforceracing.com for examples.

The reason I am asking is that I happen to have a GT2 intercooler laying around. I know what after market intercoolers are out there for our cars and I'm not planning on upgrading my intercooler any time soon, but if I knew that the GT2 intercooler would work better than the 951 one than I might use it when I REbuild-up my 2.8 and the car that it's in.

I just cant imagine any 951 owner spending the money on a GT2 intercooler to try fit to a 951. The expense would make it unwarranted for the most part, buying the IC, welding on tabs to mount it, making PVC pipes perhaps, and all that if it even fits space wise, not to mention we dont know if the GT2 IC is "better"... however, if you have one lying around, and can test the pressure and temp differences, by all means! More information is better.

Just becasue 400+whp can be made using the stock intercooler doesn mean its a waste of time upgrading. Running cooler intake temps is always a good thing, even if you are running 300hp.

Your best bet is to sell that thing. Looks like you ned about 2000 hours labor to fit it, then it is too tall, so it will partially block the radiator.
Also - GT2 parts are worth about 50 times what 951 parts are - so when you sell it, you could probably buy another 951.
