since it is a track car, the clearence will be .003"/.07mm.. I get the block back from machine shop today, hope they did a good job. the crankshaft is balanced, and the new pistons and rods are weight adjusted. hope for some assembly this weekend.

the car will also soon have a pretty nice welded in cage, with deleted brake booster and tilton pedal box. pics will come.

So they are bought from Lindsey Racing? Does somebody actually have any experience of those pistons?
If i have understood correctly they dosen't have ferrostan coating like original ones have.

Also what happens if the coating wears off?
Not wishing you anything but 'Great success' (said in Borat's voice) and hope it all goes perfectly for you.

yes, they are from LR. I know one 951 here in norway have those pistons, he uses the car for racing. And I don't think he has had any problems. the engine got 450hp+

I don't know if they have ferrostan coating.

333pg333: I have not heard of any problems that coating wears off. Lindsey says they opened a engine with wiseco pistons, also coated for alusil. after it had runned 10.000miles, and the pistons and cylinders looked just as good as when they assembled it. I don't think JE is any more bad. they do cost more.

Thanks, I hope it will work out fine

Duke: Thanks. Is he on 944sverige forum?

I understand what you mean, and I know there is not many 951 with these pistons. but hey, I am willing to make a try. If the engine don't blow this year, I will look over the pistons and cylinder next winter. I think that will be interesting! If it blows, it blows... then I build a new engine, but not alusil

I think it will work great.
