Default Racer's Bling!

Fellow rennlister Jim - aka "Disasterman" bought a beautiful set of Kinesis Supercups from me that we just put on his incredible moton equipped race car this evening. The Hoosiers are brand new (245 front & 275 rear), which is a good thing because he didn't really take care of his last set!!

Jim is heading South to wring out business' that were soaked by Gustav, so I'm posting a couple of pictures taken in is equally well equipped pole barn/race shop. Maybe some day he'll install a beer fridge too....

Wow!! Nice wheels and what a garage!!! Something about the car looks familiar too
OT, but what sort of protection is on that car to avoid oil starvation due to all that grip with the Hoos??

Geez, that was a fast post Nick. Sitting in the Flint airport ready to go into battle. When I get back I'll post a picture of those Hoosiers. Spoke to a track buddy who said that should not have happened.

No oil problems, check it after every session and keep it at the top.

What are you checking? If you mean the level, well that's not what I meant. As you would know, these cars are highly susceptible to spinning crank bearings and this is increased quite a lot the higher the grip you have. Do you have any sump mods?

I just keep the oil topped up religously. It is my understanding that oil starvation only comes into play when oil levels are not kept at the top. Information comes from some locals that have been racing 951's seriously for over a decade without a problem.

No problems and my car handles very flat. Motons, full racers edge, hypercoil 900 and 750 pound springs.

Well you've got a good setup alright and maybe just dumb luck from your race mates can keep you from stuffing your engine but there are so many cases of spun bearings / scored cylinders that have resulted in long and expensive rebuilds. Ask me how I know What oil do you use?
What is the car like to drive on the street with those spring rates btw? Or is this not a registered car? What engine mods etc? Looks great.

Just off the plane. I will not drive the road again, it will be strictly track/race and is trailered. Plates expire this week and that will be that. No engine mods to keep compliant with PCA stock class rules. I may eventually install the Lindsey pan baffle arrangement. Still working on the small stuff. Fire suppression, exhaust etc..

Suspension is harsh on the street, feel every bump though. I have gotten rave reviews from a recent instructor who ownes a GT3. He couldn't compliment it enough.
