Why do porshe's suck?
I'm just joking sorta...
I know a friend of a friend that keeps talking a lot of trash.
He says he owns a porshe 944 turbo and that its really fast
So I'm searching around trying to figure out why he thinks his car is soo special.
He says it will trounce my 94 mustang gt.
It kinda pathetic because I know he would never have a chance of ever beating me in a race since I have way more torque than him.
And he doesn't want to go to the track because of money (I don't know how since he can afford a porshe and all )
I'm pretty sure its all a lie because it's aircooled and he is afraid it will overheat on the track.
anyway I looked up some specs on these cars and found that they have 217 hp TO THE CRANK and a little more torque. He also has lag from the turbo so I would get the jump and my power would finish him off.
He doesn't even want to race from a stop, he babbled something about breaking stuff. THERES NOT MUCH TO BREAK ON FWD! I think he's just scared.
He claimed he installed a chip and exhaust.
So that's about 10 whp
I have an exhaust on my car, but since it's a v8, it adds about 25 rwhp.
I mean I do have twice the displacement of his car!
I don't mean to rag on your car's, to each his own but
I think he's over his head and he doesn't even know it.
thanks for the input,
Billy

wow, so many things wrong with this post
its a RWD car to begin with... and....well, he would DESTROY your car, sorry to say... he is right, he wont race from a stop because our cars arent made to be dragged... they will break many components, CV joints, transaxles, etc. He obviously is pretty wise to that...
I wouldnt race em unless you want to feel incredibly stupid... good luck!

by the way... is this for real? I cant even tell....

Well I think I can chime in since I owned a 94 Mustang Cobra and I now own a 86 944 Turbo. Off the line the cobra would take my 944 but overall the 951 Is ALOT faster...It can actually scare me at times which is something the Cobra could never do and my 94 Cobra was 240hp at the crank and I know a GT is a descent amount less.... My 951 puts out more than that at the wheels:-)

Meh. I don't even think this kid is for real. If he isn't this will furnish him with a laugh since I did exactly what he wanted me to. This means he is part of an uber intelligent race of rednecks. Mos Def a troll to which I will respond with my own
If my 944 turbo is aircooled then I am the president of the United States. Also, when did anybody tell you aircooled Porsches overheat at a race track? Go to Sebring and read about how many years the 911 turbo won in a row. Our aircooled 911 turbo win *think* about getting hot when I drive it in the May event full out for 30 minutes. Solution, install ducting for front mounted oil cooler.
We have two mustangs ('04 Cobra, '68 Fastback 5L pushrod motor like yours) and two Porsches (89 911 turbo, 86 944 Turbo). The mustangs don't hold a candle to the Porsches in any kind of performance driving. Sure they can drag race. That is what they are designed to do. But so can something I weld up in my backyard. You can definately turn an SN95 or Fox body mustang into a fast track car, but it is still an SN95/Fox body mustang.
Just understand that the Porsche has a level of sophistication that your 94 GT just can't have. It is like that guy who is P-diddies lacky. I mean he probably makes a ton of money and sees lots of hot chicks, but he is still P-diddies bitch.

Having previously owned a '96 GT as my daily driver ... no question in my mind. 951. This has been tested also ... Kool's euro 951 (chips only) walked away from my GT (stock) very easily.
