Default stock diverter valve problem

my stock diverter valve does not hold vacuum, and my dad suspects that is where my vacuum leak is. Is the stock unit supposed to hold vacuum? Could i still run my car with this deverter valve temporaily until i order one and it arrives. Also is there anywhere i can get one today since it is labor day and all.

I honestly don't know, but if the talon uses a Bosch valve like quite many factory turbos, it just might fit. Then again, a new 993TT (also made by Bosch) valve is only like $30-40 or so, could be easier to just get one of those.

You can go to your local Saab dealer. Saab use the same bosch part the 993tt use (with firmer spring ,that's good). I don't remember the number but try a search on the forum, that's were I found mine.

you'll be fine if you drive it like that. depending how bad it is, avoid building boost at all and you'll be fine. order it asap... try the Evo one at paragon, its a great peice and will not have to be replaced like the new one your going to buy will in a few years.

Remove the vacuum line on top of the diverter valve and put your finger on it.

You should feel some vacuum sucking your finger, if not, time to get a new one or updates duverter valve.

ok so i have my brothers friends talon diverter and it is noticiblly harder to move the valve. I tested it with a vacuum gauge and it starts to open at about 15 on the gauge, is that too much for my 951 i am not sure what vacuum a stock 951 holds at closed throttle. BTW it looks cool though i have to make a adapter to fit because it is slightly larger.

I may be wrong here, but vacuum on idle on our cars should be ~20Hg?

Too much is better. You want the BOV stiffer than the boost you have. Good luck

I talked to my brothers friend and he told me that this BOV is good up to 22psi of boost, also there is this small hole on the exit side of the BOV next to where the air rushes out to go to the turbo what is it for? It is appoximately a mm in diameter and goes up to the top of the BOV through a channel leading to the top.
