You just picked the old o-ring out and pushed a new one into place?

Funny, I just replaced my o-rings today!
I used a small steel rod which had a sharp pointed end. With that I "destroyed" the old seals so that I could pry up the pieces from the grooves.
If you have problem getting pictures of the spring just PM me an email adress, my intake is still on the garage floor.

Can someone help me with the thin washers on the shaft. I'm trying to figure out how many I should have and where they go. I got the reseal kit. The instructions say there should be a thin washer under the TPS that must be removed in order to get the snap ring off the shaft. When I removed my TPS, I found no washer under it. So, I removed the snap ring, and pulled out the shaft. When handling the throttle body, an extra thin washer fell out. I'm thinking that washer was under the snap ring. Anyone else find a similar arrangement when they dissassembled?

I now have three washers -- the serrated one that does under the nut on the end of the shaft, and two flat thin washers, one slightly bigger than the other. I can't quite tell where the washers go, but I suspect the smaller one goes under the snap ring on the TPS end. Yes? No?

Thanks for the sanity check Michelle. I took a bunch of pictures before pulling it apart and this one confirms the snap ring sits on top of the washer. The instructions say that the washer needs to be removed in order to see the snap ring -- wonder if later throttle bodies are different in that regard? My is an 86 too.

I used red loctite on the shaft screws. Any tips on peening over the screws? I fear bending the shaft. What kind of punch have you all used?
