Default feeler post: gtg in florence,ky sept???

I have been kicking around the idea of having a cruise inn/gtg at the retirement center that i work for to help raise alittle money for the resident's fund. There is a large lot in the front of the building, very AIR valance accessable for those who have lowered cars, and it is right off of burlington pike. The deal would be get as many cars as possible to show up, every one makes a donation to the resident fund which helps pay for resident outings/ activities and parties etc...doesnt have to be anything excessive, a couple bucks a car would work. As well as helping out, a few of the residents would also be able to come out to check out the machinery, and could possibly be good from a marketing standpoint. Im sure we could talk activities into getting refreshments set up as well.

I know it is short notice, im really just asking for opinions at this point- it would be in september before it starts getting to cold-I figure if alot of people say they would show up then i can talk the place into letting us have it, i dont think they realize how large our "community" is. Any opinions much appreciated.

Had I known a few weeks ago I would not have assigned the Boston people to be in Cinci the week of 9/27 and assigned myself to Cinci/Covington for that week.

I'll be out of town on 9/4/4. I could do a Saturday or Sunday. Weeknights are tough.

I would say do it on Saturday 9/4 (or another Saturday) for early afternoon or late morning. Then we could do a drive and a eat-out somewhere. Is the brewery still open there?

PS: There is some sort of VW/Porsche cruise this weekend in the Dayton, trying to get the info from Sean McManus.

Oops! I was copying this thread to a few other forums and moved it out of the 944 forum by mistake.

Randy V/John D., could you copy this back to the 944 forum for me? Thanks!

XS, can you send me the flyer info via email?

Sure, the thing in Florence sounds like a winner to me. You might want to send a shout out to everyone on our SOW email list once you establish a date/time/agenda.

Any of you guys know Michael Burke in Florence, I'm picking up his red 951 next week, he bought it from a guy in Cincy a few months ago, would really like to track down previous owner to see what all has been done to the car. If anyone knows anything about the owner or car please PM me, thanks.

That sounds like a good time, and to have a GTG in the Cincy area is great... I might be in Lexington that saturday, but wish I could come...
