86 944t CCW wheels for sale
I am ordering wider wheels for my track car so I am selling my CCW wheels. I know many people on this site have been looking to upgrade their wheels....
I have two sets for sale $1500 each set +shipping (Im in the Bay Area, Ca)
Both sets are identical except one set has black anodized centers and one set has the full poshiled centers.
They are 3 piece wheels, 17x9 fronts and 17x10 rears. They bolt right onto my 1986 944turbo. I removed the rear factory spacer and I run the Koni coil overs in the front.
They are in great shape, total true (round) with NO curb rash.
I will email pix to interested parties.
These wheels are approx. $1,900 a set new from CCW......
If you have been looking for custom 17" wheels for your turbo thne you know you can not get 3 piece 17" wheels at this price....
Thanks

I am in the market as well...........
but you mention that the rear factory spacer is removed to fit these? I was assuming the wheels from CCW were a straight bolt on with no need to remove the spacer?

I wil have to double check, but I belive the wheels where roiginally made to fit with the factory spacers, but my car is lowered and I didnt want the tires to rub the fenders so (they werent' rubbing, but it is a track only carand I didnt want to test it!) I took out the factory spacer and put in a 1/4" spacer and they do not rub ANYWHERE and I have 275/40/17 tires....
I will include the 1/4" spacers with the sale so whomever gets them can run either configuration....
I will post pix as soon as I take some photos...
Thanks

A stock 86 944 doesn't have a spacer at the rear. The 21mm rear spacer was only used on the earlier 944 series cars. By 86 Porsche was no longer using the spacer.
Edit: Not posted to be argumentative - just adding some info. Porsche had a habit of modifying specifications when ever the mood hit them - so ANYTHING is possible.

Yes, The 86 turbo DOES have a rear spacer, they changed the rear rotor in 87 to elliminate the spacer. The 87 rotor "hat" (all one piece rotor) is taller (deeper) because it doesn't have a spacer.....

Yours may, but all the other '86 turbo's i've seen have no rear spacer. They do look better, however, with a 15mm spacer on the rear.
In '87 the rotor was redesigned because the offset of the car was changed all around. The offset was changed to accomodate the ABS ring and sensor.

I've never seen an 86 with a rear spacer from the factory. The 83-85 944's had the spacer you are talking about, but for model year 85.5 and 86, they got rid of the spacer.

Apparently, I have the only 86 with a spacer..... It must be a collectors item...... BTW, when I buy new rotors (for an 86 turbo) they are identical to the ones I take off which used a spacer...... My car did come with the factory Fuch wheels, so i dont know if that had anything to do with it or not....
I dont know about all 86's , just mine which has a spacer..... Now that I know my car is ultra rare.. who wants it for the bargain price of $50k......
