Do they come with tires on them or just the rims?

I dont know about all 86's , just mine which has a spacer..... Now that I know my car is ultra rare.. who wants it for the bargain price of $50k......

As I mentioned - Porsche did what they wanted, when they wanted, so yours may indeed have had the spacer on it from the factory. However, yours would be the first that I have encountered with a factory spacer. My 86 951 does not have a spacer (well - it does now - but I added that to fit late model wheels). To my knowledge, there was no particular reason for the elimination of the rear spacer so the rotor would not have changed. I believe Porsche simply felt the spacer was not needed.
I brought this up because your car MAY have been modified in some way that would result in the wheels not working on a non spacered car (at least without a spacer). It is common practice to add a spacer to the rear of the 86 and earlier cars in order to fit late model offsets. Then again, early (83 and 84) cars with a rear spacer also came with Fuchs, but the spacer was 21mm - not the 28mm spacer required for late offset wheels. So, there is some confusion as to where the wheels you have for sale would work. Can you confirm the size of the rear spacer?

Actually- all confusion can be eliminated if you can ID the offset on the wheels. Thanks.

One set of wheels has 275/40/17 (rears) and 245/40/17 (fronts) Hoosier R3S03 tires in good shape (about 6 heat cycles on them). The other set has 265/17 rear and 235/17 front Dunlop SP Sport racing slicks with about 8 heat cycles. I will leave the tires on the wheels if the buyer wants them (no extra charge for the tires, but obviously shipping will be more).

As far as spacers go, when I ordered my wheels, I spoke to John who is THE MAN at CCW. I told him I had an 86 944turbo and he knew what the backspacing should be form prior orders. I went with is recommendation and the wheels fit. Although the wheels did not rub the outer fender lip, it looked pretty close (but John was sure they wouldn't) so I later removed the factory spacer (approx. 3/4") and replaced it with a 7 or 8 mm H&R spacer......

My 86turbo is not modified , all part numbers are stock 86 951 part #'s and verified through Parts Heaven here in the Bay Area.

Basically, these wheels bolted onto my 86 turbo..... As I mention, my car had the factory 16" FUCH wheels which only came on 86turbos.

The backspacing (NOT OFFSET) on my wheels is about 7". I will get the exact measurement when I get home.......

Sounds like whoever owned your car before you did what I did. Bought the spacers that came on all 944's in the rear before 85.5 (21mm) and put them on the rear to space out the wheels.

Porsche seems to have removed them on the 86 turbos to ensure clearance with the wider 8" wheels. Turns out they're right because on my car, the 21mm caused slight rubbing on the driver side. I'm using 15mm on the driver side and 21mm on the passenger side.

John knows the dimensions for these cars very well. I'm guessing he spec'd you the same wheel he has for the rear of all the other '86 turbo's he's built for. I'd guess that if you ever ran the wheels with the spacers, you'd get rubbing at about 10 o'clock on the fender under full compression.

But what's important here is that John built the same wheel he has for any other '86 951. So they will fit any other '86 951. The fronts might not fit without coilovers, though.

Am interested in better pix as well. What kind of tires are on the all-black set? How much life is left in them?

I have two sets for sale $1500 each set +shipping (Im in the Bay Area, Ca)

Both sets are identical except one set has black anodized centers and one set has the full poshiled centers.

They are 3 piece wheels, 17x9 fronts and 17x10 rears. They bolt right onto my 1986 944turbo. I removed the rear factory spacer and I run the Koni coil overs in the front.

They are in great shape, total true (round) with NO curb rash.

I will email pix to interested parties.

These wheels are approx. $1,900 a set new from CCW......

If you have been looking for custom 17" wheels for your turbo thne you know you can not get 3 piece 17" wheels at this price....

Thanks
WOW. Shame you aren't closer I would have those wheels off you in a flash!
I suppose the shipping to UK would be totally restrictive??

Cheers

They weigh approx. 18 lbs. for the front and 19-20 for the rear. These wheels are some of the lightest wheels you can get...
