Default Project 300RWHP on a buget.. info needed.

Hey guys,
My car should finally be back on the road after my lil accident back in october. Along with the body parts I picked up a set of Autothority Chips for a very reasonible price. I know they arn't the best, but will suffice for now.

Anyway, my goal for this car is 300RWHP. I know it can be done on the stock 2.5L motor, but what all do I need to do. I have been looking at some hybrid TO4B's with KKK center sections. This will bolt right up to my stock exhuast/intake correct? However i take it i'd need custom burnt chips right?

Now, AFM or MAP/MAF does the stock AFM have to be replaced? I thought I seen a post by tony g saying 300hp is acheiveable on the stock AFM. I might be wrong thou.

Anyway, help me out here. This is going to be on some sort of budget since i'm a college student that don't make to much.

I would get a K27/6 if you are on a budget - they seem to pop up frequently enough and can be had for a good price, heck from the way Tony G talks about them I might be looking into one shortly...

Some people say you can make 400+ with the stock AFM.You have to find out the way you want to make power. you can make 300 with your stock turbo but you will have to set higher boost. The first thing you have to do is ask yourself how much money you can put into it then everyone here can give you the info you need for your very achievable power request.

Sam,
That was my second choice on a new turbo. The next question, can it be done on the stock one?

billgot,
If i'd have to give a price, i'd say $2500 max. Given that it won't all be spend at one time.

You can't make 300rwhp with the stock turbo. I think Danno got real close trying at 290whp with a k26/8 or something. To make 300rwhp, you have to upgrade the turbo.

Danno has chips for the K27/6, stock AFM stock injectors. Follow SamGrant's advice and get that turbo along with matched chips. That's your best bet on a budget. $300 for the chips, $300 for a used k27 if you're lucky.

Not exactly 700.....you will also likely need new injectors, FPR, boost controller, boost gauge, something to put the gauge in, and wastegate. With all that, you should be slightly above 300 based on previous posts here.

$2500 budget? Here's how I'd spend it.

$800 - T04E 50 trim, KKK hot side custom turbo (TEC).
$375 - 75lb injectors (gururacing)
$240 - Raceware studs (lindsey)
$720 - Spec Clutch kit (lindsey)
$400 - Reliaboost + custom retune chips (gururacing)

Total - $2535.

Its not that easy. You also forgot exhaust! The best thing is that everyone here is upgrading and there is always parts to buy cheap. The stock injectors can do i pulled 300HP on them with my old K27.

Rage he does not need #72 injectors he does not have a 2.8. Or the clutch but if he plans to run 18psi of turbo he might need a better head gasket. They are filling your head to quickly if you cant do the work yourself Wes you are done for before it begins. That K27 on ebay is a good choice start there dont pay to much.Changing a turbo sucks the first time you better be sure you want to take this project up.

billgot,
All the work will be done by me and my roommates. All of us have much experiance working on cars... turbo'd cars specifically. FYI, My two best friends have 12 and 13 second AWD Talon's and Datsun 280zxt's. Anywho, the HG was the next thing I was thinking of. I acutally think I coulda done it without everone's input, but I figured I should ask the best.. people that really know.

I was thinking something like this:

TO4B Hybrid
WideFire HG
Custom burnt Guru Chips
Greddy BOV
Test pipe with custom made 3inch exhaust
Custom Built hard pipes

I'm estimating $1500 for all the parts listed above.

Just for starters, I only want to run around 18psi of boost.

What you have there is perfect in my mind. You say only 18psi that is a huge number. But i am sure your 2 friends run alot higher boost.Put a new Timing belt in as well.I hope you relize you wont get 12 sec 1/4 mile times with that power these cars dont come out of the hole.
