Default AF Ratio Gauge Mounting

I'm finally going to buy/install a wideband AF ratio meter. One thing that bugs me is finding a good location to mount the gauge. I really don't want it to look "intrusive" if that's the word. Any suggestions? Also, can the gauge simply be disconnected when not in use? I could live with it in a "bad" location if I did not have to leave it there full time.

Thanks

That looks nice and easy to hide. Thanks for the photo.

Thanks, keeps the bling and flashing lights to a minimum.
The red 968 hazard switch I added is just enough.

I believe this is the mount I used.

I thought I had posted a reply yesterday but it seems to have disappeared somewhere.

I like the idea of installing the gauges in the stereo cabinet. Looks like I can have both stereo and gauges there, and it's easy to read, which is important with my old man eyes. Where did you get the mounting hardware and cover plate?

I've been told that the stereo wont fit in the lower slot. However, having the gauges in the lower slot like most do, makes it difficult read as the damn shift lever is in the way. Plus you end up looking down while you are accelerating!!

In the last photo I can really see that. 1st or 3rd gear would block a lot of the lower slot off. I think I need to look at options when I take a drive later. It would be easier if there is a plug-in option. I would not mind having the gauge in a less than perfect place if I could just unplug it and stick it in the glove box when I'm not using it. Maybe even a suction cup mount for the windshield like the old gps units. It would be easy to see while in use.

Gauge panel is from Lindsey Racing. https://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Par...AUGEPANEL.html

The temp gauges are fine down low, easy enough to check down a straight or when street driving and I don't adjust boost settings so there's really no reason to watch it. Still nice to have and know there isn't a problem with over boost but I verify that often enough. Another location I've seen that's more in the line of sight is blocking off the center vents. You would need to fabricate a custom plate and mount but definitely more visible.

Thanks for the link. I'll take a look at the lower compartment tonight to see if it seems like a good fit for me. While I was on the LR site I noticed the AEM air/fuel and boost combo gauge. Looks interesting, and it says it comes with logging capability. I need to do some research but that would help a neophyte like myself.

That's a really nice looking installation. Do the mounting brackets require any modification? Is it easy to run the wiring up there? In terms of being able to look at the gauge and drive safely that looks optimal.

It replaces the factory trim piece on the pillar. Here's the link to it. https://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Por...GEPOD-944.html

Pretty straightforward install.
