Default jet pump/venturi?

Part # 067 133 753 A or B Dealer calls it a Jet Pump, Pelican calls it a venturi. Is this the part which fails(seperates) black end that fits in Y shaped gray body. Is the black piece supposed to be pull apart? If not can simply be say glued/apoxied back together.

Specifically is the factory (original 87) Venturi. Is the black plastic piece that inserts into the end of the gray Y piece supposed to move in and out or be fixed i.e.: permanently attached?

The rear section that pulls out has an oring seal that commonly dries out and shrinks.
The oring should be replaceable as a standard size if you go to the auto store counter and ask for their o ring kit to match against.

In a pinch I have gotten away by electrical taping the "joint" and it's worked well enough to fix idle issues and pass CA smog... lol

There did not appear to be any o-ring at all. You are talking about where the black plastic end inserts into the gray Y body, right? I found no cracks in either piece and was told I could simply bond the two together, checked it after bonding no leaks before re-intall. Are you saying that if there was a vacuum leak involving the Venturi it would cause idle issues?

There should be an oring sealing the inner piece to the outer piece. It's not a very tight crush fit but it's there, at least on all the ones I've seen.

It'd be a pretty small leak but every bit helps.
