There's also versions of these turbos with bolt on capabilities...no mount modification. I have one coming for another 951 and should hit my target boost of 20psi below 3k rpm. Still better than any hybrid out there while offering a much better curve and exponentially better driveability. Ive had hydrid kkk turbos. They suck.
The OP was asking if he can get a similar profile to a LR turbo using a 14cm turbine and the answer is yes. Maybe even a little better. But that doesn't discredit the hybrid. Ive used plenty of hybrid turbos over the years and it all depends on the builder.
That said. Ive also used bb Garrett turbos that spew tons of oil though the bearings and no restrictor made could stop it.
So it all comes down to the builder.
One can certainly get very good results using a hybrid. My last car had a gt35r matted with a kkk8 housing and it was a wicked turbo. I had full boost around 3800 rpm. After that it was a freight train and made me wish I had another 1000 rpm.

While housings do play a roll. Efficiency comes from the wheel itself and its much easier to install a kkk hybrid turbo than playing with welding equipment, flanges and mounts.
The boost log I posted is from my car, Just wanted to see who would think it couldn't be done. The Log is from my LR-M-tune, running the logger and tuner. Im Running a Holset hybrid turbo aka voodoo turbo, No flange mods needed, Engine mount/turbo pedestal was modified but not super hard to do. Also as noted there is other versions that require no modifications and should spool even faster then mine. Welcome to the modern age of turbos!!

I'm not a fan either but, the image states LR right on it.

Because he is logging data and using linsdey racing M tune maf and map system. Not the turbo. I want a link to the LR turbo that performs better than OP's.

I think its been around a while. Education or someone actually doing it easily is worth a thousand words. Great results and congrats.
So your setup is also a hybrid judging from what you stated.

Yes Hybrid Holset, with a K26 style #14 hot side. Ported and Lightened, Bolts on, Just needs an engine mount mod.

Cool. 3586 is very similar to what I had. The wheels are close to a gt35R. Some would say identical, but just a tad smaller closer to 60 mm inducer. I'm confused by the description of your hot side though. You said kkk#14. Wasn't aware KKK made larger than a #10
BTW: where in Connecticut are you. Would love to check out your ride. I'm one mile from the Greenwich border.

Nice area. I usually head that way when gambling or the old Saybrook inn is my wife's favorite.
A close friend who also owns a 944 just purchased most of the real estate in Mystic. He's been bugging me to visit.

I haven't seen my car in 2 months. I'm getting it back from a the mechanic and detailing tomorrow. I have to figure out the issues i'm having after the VR maf system was installed. I can almost bet that its bad injectors but will know for sure this weekend.

Head bolts? They used studs and are pretty decent but have aged for 30 years now. Ive upgraded to raceware head studs for additional support.
I put Raceware studs and ARP lowers in mine in 2000 with a modified K27/8. At 25psi over 10 years or so, I started pulling studs out of the block. Lower #4 was first, lower #1 second. I helicoiled both and pulled them again before dropping boost back to 18psi. It's been fine (sans the balance shaft leaks) ever since.

25psi is too much. A better profile for the turbo for faster response is my new project (along with a complete rebuild of a new bottom end)
