Default Crank Pulley Bolt??

I need to order a crank pulley (or 2 to have a spare), but I can't seem to find any on the usual vendors. Are these NLA now? I bought one the last time my engine was out a few years back, I think from LR. But I can't find ANYTHING now. These are stretch bolts, and thus, cannot be reused.

What size is it? You can always use one from a different manufacture or get one from McMaster Carr I would think.

not sure BMW uses the same size but it might be worth investigating.

Never heard of these being stretch bolts, and never heard them being non-reusable.

Ive done a ton of wp/tb jobs for folks and had my own engine apart plenty of times and always reuse the crank bolt.

The typical giveaway for a stretch "Tty" bolt is a reduced shank but the 944 crank bolt is fat the whole way through.

+1 it’s not a stretch bolt so just reuse it dry and torqued correctly you’ll be fine

btw the BMW E89 Z4 uses the same crank bolt but they are also still available from Porsche.

Juat Remember the Torque....Its pretty High,, If you dont have a Flywheel lock it is possible to put a pipe Wrench on the Square part of the Trans Coupler and Gently apply pressure. Helps if you have someone hold the wrench till it makes contact with the rear BH... The Torque spec you have to look up in the manual but if I recall its something like 155Ftlbs.... and be VERY careful to make sure PS Pulley is squared up straight before... Otherwise it shifts to one side and gets off center... Never to be re-centered again because it screws up the center hole... The Torque of that Center bolt Drives the Oil Pump!!!

Crank pulley 944-102-214-03 is being made and sold by a small German company named "Porsche." It is available.

Crank bolt is a generic DIN 960/ISO whatever M16 x 1.5 x 60 bolt. Porsche or Bel-metric.
