Weird how he doesn't mention the turbo-s, and the fact that the newer ones didn't have that alarm key on the side of the Quarter panel. Ive also never seen one with just one power mirror?

I don’t think he read the manual or knew you had to flick a switch to enable the passenger mirror to power activate. Also his research seems a bit thin, Porsche didn’t stop making them in 89, iirc they stopped in 91. Didn’t mention handling either except to hint in passing that the 911 was better at the time, mmm. All pretty lame really.

I was just taking the positive away from it and glad to see our cars getting some respect.

Other than being a little heavy, and zero fun to work on... could a sport coupe/grand tourer get much better?
As far as the period 911 being better... I can't think of any category that would apply except resale value!

thanks for sharing it's good to see attention being paid to these cars but he didn't do a lot of research, likely he's very busy selling cars. the sunroof is not an issue, the pop-up headlights are cool, the rear spoiler he mentions is a diffuser, as noted incorrect on the mirror adjustments, antenna on the back? dude that's aftermarket cell phone stuff, as noted incorrect on the history especially the S models and the '89 -91 (as noted he forgot they made these beyond '89) and the 88.5, 89, 90, 91 were S models with low production numbers, a whole new ballgame with an impressive history of Porsche Cup series from where these cars came from.

We are fans and will be critical, I just took it all with a grain of salt and thought a video with decent production quality not done by some 18 year old that gave some props to our car and said they are worth investing in, can only help I think. At least someone who obviously isn't a 951 buff is saying good things and perhaps not preaching to the choir with their platform/pulpit.

I Agree, and what other car out there has really stood the test of time, Meaning...80s cars 90s cars.. Corvettes, Esp the C4 Just look "DATED"... Our cars have "Just enough" round edges and sharp lines... They are Truly Timeless... I think the Prices of good examples are really starting to reflect this.. Funny.. Ive had my 86 now for almost 20 years.. and the other day I was out with it and couldn't believe the amount of head turning and thumbs up the car got..

They have stood the test of time and many people, especially those who were around in the 80s, still turn their heads, give a wave or comment, it is a cool phenomenon. Mine is black and I think the color mask some of what is going on body wise and Red and Silver show off the lines better, but well put when you commented about the amount of curves and sharp lines, falls into the elegant and understated category for me. Funny you mention the C4 Corvette, I recently picked up a C5 because I think it falls into the niche of having some lines of the old school Vettes and being more of the timeless design, looking like a vette, having pop up headlights...... The C4 was too much of a departure, the good departure part was an actual sports car designed from the ground up suspension, from the classic look for me and the C5 came and had half the parts and a return to the Vette look. I like the C5 better than the C6, but the C7s are real nice.

I wander off topic a bit here, but for me my step son puts it into perspective as he is into cars, plays lots of video games and knows just about every make and model of sports car out there and when I show him a cool spoiler on a 944 or some front end kit, he is "Why would you mess with it, it is just right as it is". I think if it speaks that way to a 22-year old (probably 19 the first time I heard it), then there is something special there that crosses generations. And I can say from experience that the build quality of the 944 (I had a NA before my current 86 944 Turbo) is light years beyond the corvette, especially in regard to the interior.
