Bought this one from bringatrailer.com

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-944-turbo-89/

I definitely feel like I won the lottery buying this car. The 300 mile drive home from Sacramento, California to Arcata, California went flawlessly and was an absolute blast. There are zero oil leaks, zero coolant leaks, holds boost (set to 14psi) , and a built in air:fuel meter reads dead center the entire time. Never rich or lean. Comes with a service binder dating back to 1987 and original purchase date from 1986! I was able to enjoy the California I-5 freeway with little traffic and then cut across to the windy mountainous road of highway 299 to experience how she would handle... the ride was wonderful. Great handling, no unusual noises and the tires have lots of thread left too. She’s got a few dents here and there, a dirty interior and some minor things to take care of but I’m looking forward to repairing them.
To sum it up, this 944 has been mechanically loved. I’m looking forward to the many miles of smiles ahead.

yewww!!! So happy with the purchase. Great to own a 944turbo again.

Nice find for a nice price! I take it you had the car shipped to Sacramento?

Enjoy.

Very cool! I watched the end of this auction on BaT and I think you got a good solid deal. I have an 87 951 as well, but since I’m in the middle of a slow motion engine out reseal, I’m missing driving it terribly. My 97 Boxster is truly a great sports car, but there’s something about a 944, and then a boosted 944, that I find addictive. Enjoy, and keep posting updates!

Thanks! These cars are so amazing. Worlds greatest toy. Makes every trip out so fun. I don’t know how people drive ordinary cars lol.

Wish you the best with your engine reseal. Hopefully you’ll be done soon.

Thanks for the welcome.

The drivers is power and the passengers is manual.

These are the manual pop-ups I have installed;
and purchased from here:

Nice work and updates since purchase, looking good.
You might consider, i would recommend removing the fuel pressure gauge once you have the pressure dialed in.
It's easy enough to re-install once in a while to verify pressure and high risk running with it IMO. Sure fire if it were to leak.
Those headlight brackets are the making of a fellow Rennlister (vt951). They help clean up the engine bay along with removing the washer tank.

Thanks :-)
- Great suggestion about removing the pressure gauge. I will do that after running the car a bit more. My idle is a bit wonky at the moment and not sure if it’s fuel related or not.
- big shout out to vt951 for making these. They are fantastic.
-my washer tank is out but I will reinstall a universal one when feeling inspired to work on the car again.

time to get out and drive :-)

For a summer fun car, washer tank is unnecessary.
Idle issue could be Idle Control Valve.

Another great resource for us if you're not familiar is http://www.clarks-garage.com/
Check out the Garage Shop Manual

Be sure and re-use the stainless steel ball in addition to the threaded cap at the end of the fuel rail when you remove the pressure gauge.

Good, that's what creates the seal, will leak without it.
Happy reading on Clark's Garage, it's our 944/951 bible.
