Default Need pics of 944 blocks - inside.

Hey all,

I am doing some comparisons on the difference between the 928 block and the 944 block.

I am trying to figure out if the bottom webbing of the 928 block is at all similar in design to the 944. The reason for this inquirey is for sleeving.

The 944 blocks are GREAT for sleeving. I am concerned about whether the 928 blocks are as well. If we have the same bottom structure, then we should be good to go.

But if weight was somehow removed from the bottom portion of the block around the bottom area of the bore tower, then we may have a problem.

So if anyone can help here, I would be greatly appreciative.

The rings are being gapped as we speak. Gotta figure out fitment of the new T04e 60 trim turbo as well...

I'm already working on a writeup, and will keep everyone posted while it's fired up, broken in, and tuned.

BTW - anyone know if those 928 V8's fit in a 944? 5.6+L V8 twin turbo... imagine the possibilities... .

Please do keep us posted Rage, I am very interested in your leakdown numbers.

yea, I was wondering if the V8 can be shoehorned in the factory frame. Not that I can afford such a project anyways .
