The shorter tubes are going from the center of the hoop to the rear shock towers, additionally I also have a horizontal bar connecting the rear shock towers.
We are targeting to make the chassis fairly stiff without adding to much weight.
I will be adding 1" chromoly triangulate in addition to the 1.5" front shock towers. Will also be adding a dash bar and X style door bars.
I will keep you all posted

Here is the "cage this" design that I seriously considered ordering. I really really like his design & have considered it my #1 influence. Notice the tube that protects from drive wheels entering the cabin.

If car has to be registered Pauly you will need a half cage, as full cages are now illegal for street use in Victoria and probably Australia. I think you can get around it with removable door bars for track use only. Not sure what WTA require though

As we know, these cars are all about the driving experience and fitment is critical. What methods of tuning the steering wheel to accommodate your needs are you using? I tried the following to use with a 3" deep dish wheel. This will allow for signal (blinker) cancelling and it's lightweight. The adapter was made with 1.75" OD rollbar tubing & that allows my socket to fit through the centre for the big steering shaft nut.

Didn't know you were going down this path Paul. Could have made me an offer. It would have to be a pretty juicy offer but I'm thinking about it.

Patrick slap yourself! Not with my hand, with yours! I'm much to far away. Get to work and make your car as you had wanted it and as I want to see it. Just do it. Have you even cleaned it up? If not get youself a pack of toothbrushs and WD40 and get on it. Stop with all that nonsense talk, it's only money and not mine. Sell your body if you have to, go full Monte. It's ok again it's not me. I would help you (not going full Monte thou) if you got me a round trip plane ticket. Your a solid beast, remember that! Work on your dream, life is short. Good talk.

Patrick,
Sometimes you just need a little break. Break time is over, lets get back to working on Black Beauty.
You have to much Blood, Sweat and Tears in this girl to just leave her out to pasture.
Best Wishes,
Max

+1 put it on back burner for a while then go back to full attack mode! Much too much in it to let it go.

Just curious, why do so many cars have that knee bar on the outside of the dash? I realze everyone sits differently in the car but those things look seriously scary to the knees.. I put mine behind the dash just for that reason. I do enjoy being able to walk... I thought that the dash is padded for a reason.
