Now, get out there and drive some Porsches! Good luck in your search! Mine took a long time, but it's here and sometimes it's still hard to believe.....

one last question....what is the weight difference between lets say 1986 951 and a 1988 951????
is there any other differences than the no airbags or abs on the 1986??
thanks

There is some weight difference there, no "for sure" exact details. We've had weight discussions here before, the cars are somewhere between 2900 and about 3200 pounds depending on options and who is sitting behind the wheel
Amount of gas in the tank, whether you are keeping the spare/tools/air compressor/manuals, etc in the car, and lots of other things can make it vary. It's not important enough to worry about between them.
Yes, the 86 is the only year suspension that can wear the coveted Fuchs wheels, they were technically the lightest, standard tranny coolers, forged rods (stronger than the later cars), and there are many more 86 cars than the others. The 87+ cars have timing belt tensioners as well. I'm sure I'm leaving out some other things, but those are a quick group of basics, not going into the "S" in 88 or the 89 cars which have a different turbo and a bit more power. If you plan up doing mods which could include a turbo change, there isn't a great deal of reason to pay more for one of those and then mod it to change the special things about the car that were different from the others.
