So you are saying having that plastic window hidden away is preventing yellowing? I wonder if there is any detrimental affects on the cloth being unstressed.

I had assumed that the top being down would actually be better for it, especially since it's cloth so not as susceptible to cracking that the vynil ones get.... Until I was reading cover to cover through the owner's manual and saw it emphatically state the top should be in fully closed position if not in use.

Now historically I've never done this with my convertibles as they live in a garage and I'm mostly able to leave them at home if it might rain. And the PO put a new top on mine several years ago and when I got it from him it had obviously lived in his garage in this manner (top down, collecting dust).

I expect to spend a good long time with this car so of course I'd like to keep that top as fresh as possible for as long as possible.

I'd wonder what a shop would say, but the only thing I could imagine is tension on the fabric being affected if kept permanently down. But that's probably a stretch

yellowing comes from the weather/uv light so it being down will not expose it to sunlight. same with being garage kept. truthfully, with it being down all of the time and kept in the garage, what difference does it make? nothing should happen to it should you need to raise it every once in a while.

Finished the front end, reglued some carpet pieces, other miscellaneous stuff. Washed up, clay bar cloth, and spray polish.

I think I may just keep these rims and not change up after all...but, you never know

Best practice with convertibles is to store them with the top up and a window cracked for ventilation. I do this and put a quality car cover over it.

Just my 2 cents...

I replaced the original exhaust with a stainless steel Dansk 92.442S (3rd on the right):

Then I also replaced the cat with a custom resonator designed by me and built in stainless steel:

This is the original cat that was removed:

This is the final result:

And this is the sound (recorded with a smartphone):

Overall I'm very satisfied, the sound is full but no drone while cruising

Culture what calipers are those you have on the front? What rotors?

porsche big brake kit from 993TT. came with calipers/pads/and rotors. rotors are very heavy. I would do aftermarket with aluminum hats. on the rear I have 968 CS rotors which come cross drilled.

I had some parts painted (bumpers, mirrors, door handles, defuser, spoiler, and third brake light cover)and thought I'd drop a picture here. The mods here still suck so I won't be checking in regularly. You can find me over on the bird board these days.

Culture,

At first glance I didn't like the new wheels but after looking for a little longer, I changed my mind. They look good but I think they would look even better in some color to offset the black.
Here are some ideas:

AZ, great to see your name pop up.This thread has been pretty dead without you.

Your car is coming along nicely. Looking forward to the finished headlights.

Not sure about the colored wheels. May be a little too flashy/racy for my car, admittedly as silly as that may sound. Maybe I'll mess around in photoshop some more.

Installed new Double Din radio, back-up camera, front facing camera (no more negotiating parking curbs). LED's in the city light/DRL socket (although I think I may go back to the dim incandescent look). Next up, KLA monoball strut mounts.
