nice.

I've got to new balljoints, so i'll go ahead and do front wheel bearings. i'll do that when the front end is up for the belt job, along with oil pan gasket, possibly new motor mounts…. everything is a while-you-are-in-there at 200k miles.

The weather is clear here in AZ and my car is still a filthy mess. At least you have a good excuse.

I installed the rear spoiler.

And I put the original header panel back on. I'm still looking for a shop who can make a one piece plexiglass header panel.

Have you thought about trying to make one yourself. There was an episode of restoration garage where they shaped plexyglass by heating it with a box they made with heat lamps inside. Didn't look that hard and the panel you are thinking of making isn't that complex as it's mostly straight with a single fold.

I've thought about it and may give it a try. It is a bit more complex because it folds completely under in the front, down on both sides and there is the complex bend in the back.

Since you would paint everything but the light couldn't you bond some sort of mounting clips onto the plexyglass and not worry about the folds in the front and sides. My car is in storage for winter so I am going by memory. Would be fun to try.

Guess I am missing having the 944 to work on. Next weekend going to change the springs and do brakes on my wife's golf not as interesting.

Quick phone pics with spoiler and header panel.

It still needs a bath.

I'm uploading a bunch more pics to the album.

The header badge matches the wheels and a bunch of other things.

nice to see it coming together. i remember going back and forth with the spoiler. being that it was made for the 968, i thought it worked well with that car due to the fluid rear bumper. i think it doesn't go well with the US rear bumper. for me, i also shaved the 3rd brake light to keep the rear lines smooth.

all of your car changes are working well together. lucky for you, white doesnt really look dirty. anything makes mine look dirty. even dust.

Mounting clips might work. I was hoping to have a complete drop in replacement made so I could have the shop make a batch of 5-10 and sell them to anyone else who wanted one. I could make a whole kit with the BiXenon HID lights with brackets, etc.

Passed emissions. Drove there and back with the top down.

Talking with a shop next week who might be able to make the header panel.
