Default rear hatch opens...or does it?

ive seen 924S's like mine where the rear hatch pops all the way open with the touch of a button. my button only unlocks it, but then it relocks.
so i gotta either move really fast or have someone help me.
is it supposed to open all the way or not?

Your rear hatch struts are shot. Replace them with new ones and your hatch will pop right open!

Look at some different companies that advertise here on Rennlist.

do the 924S and 944 have the same hatch struts? because at pelicanparts.com they have some for both cars and the 924S ones are more expensive

I heard that if you replace your Wed, May 16, 2007 struts with new ones you run the risk of doing some damage to the rear window. Don't remember exactly what it does but I think it could part the glass from the frame...or something.

Didn't mean to do that. Have no idea what happened. Wasn't trying to be funny.

New shocks will help, but the big problem is those hatch pins; they move around a little bit when you close the hatch and sometimes get caught in the catch mechanism. Sometimes you'll push the button and the hatch pops open (on cold days more often), other times you push it and then haveto go lift open the hatch.

Quick Reply: rear hatch opens...or does it?
