Cleaned out the inside of the euro to get her ready for stereo /amp/speaker/sub wiring, and installed the old seat from my 82 into her temporarily so I can finally move the car in and out without sitting on a piece of 4x4 post, which not only killed my herniated disc, but also caused me some tail-bone pain!
Also, test fit the CE cover, as I am thinking about mounting the AMP on it directly and putting some quick connects for easy removal....weird, it’s a (1) piece....my other cars have (2) piece covers...
Decided to mount the amp on the parcel shelf....not sure yet if I will mount it in the top section, or mount it on the bottom of the parcel shelf...it is quite compact...
Worked on the shark fin antennae that is going to go on the hatch, right at the roof.....where one of the POs decided to put a hole and had an antennae there...who knows, maybe it was a CB antenna.
sanded the shiny black fin, cleaned with alcohol, primed, and then painted in the original color for this car...Oak Green Metallic. Second coat goes on tomorrow, and clear can go on Tuesday....
Unless you are only going to be carrying princesses with tiny feet, I wouldn't mount the amp under the parcel tray.
There's very limited 'shoe room' under it as it is.
I wear 10s and my toes are very close to the bottom of it. Both driver's & passenger's sides.
If there was something mounted to the bottom of it, I'd kick it on a regular basis (even something as thin as that amp).
Good feedback. In most cases the only passenger is my little dog, who is a princess, and is the best company for a 928 ride...on occasion I may have a human passenger, wouldn’t want some mongo feet knocking it down
After much measurement and test fitting with my very “robust “ best friend and his size 12 work boots, found that under the passenger parcel shelf, in the right spot, was quite ideal and no risk to the components. Working on the dash, so not ready to install yet, but pre-mounted....
Learning a few things about bondo:
1: I hate it
2: I suck at applying it
3: I suck at sanding it
4: It is a lot of work sanding it
5: I hate it
Top right corner is pretty smooth...machine sanded with 80grit, then 100....started getting pretty smooth after about an hour and a half of hand sanding....I have to do the rest of the dash by hand, the palm sander takes out chunks at a time....I'm no disappointed per say, since I haven't touched bondo in 35 years, but my head said it would be easier and look better than reality has proven.
Once I get it all even, which will be about Thursday or Friday by my calculations, I will go over it with 200 grit, before I prep for texture coating...
Well, planned on working on the dash Saturday, but my skim coat I ordered arrived today, damaged, so in an effort to salvage it, I went ahead and coated it....I still suck at it...
whew! What a job...sanding, cleaning, sanding, cleaning, skim coat, sanding, cleaning, patching, sanding cleaning....finally, (3) coats of texture paint, and now (2) coats of Landau Black paint....Looks amazing! Hope my ability improves further, as I have (2) more of these to do, as well as (3) pods!

Got some new shoes for the euro, preemptively, as I’m still months away from putting her on the road, but the wife gave me the go ahead, so I had to before she changed her mind...
Achilles 225/45/17 front
Achilles 255/40/17 rear, for the Italia AT wheels already on her...
