My 928 is treated with respect at local Panamera intro
I went to a Panamera introduction event at the local dealer today, motivated by the free lunch and to combat apparent attempts at revisionism by Porsche over the rightful place of the 928 in the history of its luxury cars.
The manager greeted me warmly and asked where I'd parked (distantly), and insisted I move the car to a more prominent place. He said he was going to mention it in his talk, which indeed he did several times, saying the Panamera was inspired by the 928, and also that both it and the Panamera were somewhat controversial at first. The word being used for Panamera promotional pieces is "courage", the courage it took Porsche to develop such a car.
There you go, all you courageous captains of 928's.
I had to ask the manager if he wanted it parked *** in, or *** out. Yes, that's a McLaren next to it.

I just wish I'd washed the car this morning. Last time out was in the rain, though it was for another serious purpose: going to a town meeting to get a resolution passed for Camp 928. (Up for another road trip out east, Jim?)
I made another contribution when I whispered to the manager during his presentation of the $156,000 Turbo, "You're going to demonstrate the fold-out wing, aren't you?"

Not much attention, no. There were many shiny objects nearby, e.g., the $750,000 McLaren, whose swung-up doors cast a shadow on my car. (What was a British car doing there? I'm sure its owner is a big fat sales target.)
