My AC issues will never end.
I have been working on my AC system for some time now. Slowly getting it ready for the hot summer heat. Over the last month I installed all new AC hoses with double barrier hose. New expansion valve, new compressor, cleaned out condensor and evaporator. Over the last day I have Vacuumed it down to 75 microns and held it for 48 Hours. Finally time to add some freon and give this thing a shot. I start adding freon and the AC clutch engaged (Sweet) wait a bit longer and the freon is no longer moving into the system. So I check the high side to see no pressure is building.
This is where I am seeking advise, I go strait to the compressor being bad and not building pressure.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks again.

I hope someone speaks up who can confirm that the hookup for the low side on your early car should be in the front, the opposite of my car (an '87). I'm thinking about the photo you posted in the "what did you do" thread.

I put oil into the compressor before I in taller the compressor. Kind of sucks. If the compressor is bad, I get to purchase more oil.

Pressure (high side) is on smaller lines on dryer. Suction (low side) is on larger line along inner fender. Sounds like you've got them swapped. If so, you won't be able to get much Freon into the high side....the pressure in the system will quickly be higher than the pressure in your can of Freon.

I would like to thank everyone for the fast response to my post. The issue was having my low and high side swapped. I would also like to make sure no one buys the r-134 swap kit I purchased as it has the highest and low swapped. Lol.
I removed the 134 adapters and charged using R12 fittings. I know have ice cold AC.
Thank you again fellow Rennlisters.
Much appreciated.

Sometimes the issue is me being a dummy. When removing the R134 fittings the PO had installed, I assumed he had them on correct and installed mine in the same location. Guess that will teach me.
