I decided to clean the interior of the engine as well, so I mixed this fine sand with several quarts of oil until its a gritty paste and filled the crank case. The engine is making horrible noises, but I assume it is polishing real good in there. I am also thinking about removing all of the anti-freeze. This will make it impossible to boil over OR freeze since it will be empty. I am always thinking.

You need to think green.. When you're done scrubbing the engine out...drain the fine sand/oil mix and pour it into the radiator...you'll clean the water passages and really get the full use out of your mixture...and that's before you even think of the money savings from recycling.

Well, after performing this procedure I noticed my engine is turning over a little sluggish and I am noticing considerable smoke. Any recommendations to a good shop in your area?

I upgraded my vacuum lines with the scheisco steel braided universal type, I think I may have reversed the polarity because now my transmission won't engage in 3rd while parked on a hill at night with the hatch open.

Try turning off the headlights and opening the rear hatch, then activating any alarms your car may have. If you car has no alarms, call someone that does and have them activate theirs.
