Did I just damage my car?
So, I have heard a lot about porting and polishing my intake. I figured I would feed some fine sand into the intake to polish it and remove some carbon deposits and such. All was going well for a little while then all of a sudden the engine stopped and wont restart. any ideas?

No worries, I'll send a flatbed. I need some green interior parts anyway.

You did it dry. That's why it didn't work.
Mix the sand with water and pour it in the intake. Rev the engine a couple of times to ensure proper dispersion.

I used ground walnut shells in mine. Harder then the carbon build up, but softer then the aluminum. Also the slow burning characteristics increases the octane rating of the fuel.

Um...hello...?
Are all of you trying to sabotage this poor guys car?
You have to pull the top radiator hose off and pour sand into the block or the water passages will just be full of crud and that brand new clean engine making all that extra power will overheat!

, don't know about the dry sand method, but I heard seanr put a vacuum line in a can of coke and held a rev of 6500 rpms to clean the oxidation off of the valve stems, said it worked better than deoxit.
