OK, I noticed this, too. Wasn't sure if it was real or trying to be more like all the formula car shows with all the fake tension. Edd was likely considering his options by then.

As many have said before,WD and CCC are the 2 shows that are heads and shoulders above the rest. I learned alot from Ed and the guys on Chasing Classics. Ed will be missed and I ,m hoping he pops up with his own show soon. I liked the idea of hooking up with the Grand tour guys! That would be interesting! lol

I enjoyed "for the love of cars".. the auction part at the end of each episode is a bit blah (especially as you see that all the cars from the series went to the same auction, and one particular buyer bought multiple cars to get himself on telly), but there was some genuinely interesting stuff in there on the bodywork/metalwork side.

Other good series to check out is "Car SOS" with Fuzz Townsend (london bus nerd).

Another great UK-based TV show ruined by the US.

I especially love what Edd said about Velocity channel deciding it was 'too hard' to do the hands-on segments. What five folks can do in the UK is too hard for a network in the US. Or maybe the staff in the US wouldn't have enough time to check all their personal social media accounts if they had to do any work.

As to the rest: now that Chris Evans has been cut, TG is very good. I'm having a hard time warming up to GT.

Maybe Edd could replace Aaron Kauffman on Gas Monkey now that he's quit. That's a show that focuses mostly on the workshop builds.

Another car show that focuses on the work and not the drama is Car SOS (UK show). Somewhat similar to WD when it comes to showing the work that's done. Better than all the BS US shows that focus on product placement and not much else.

When a show like "great British bake off" sells for 75 million Euros........you get some concept of the business.

Oh no just seen this thread Like you guys I loved the workshop bits and learnt a lot. Might have gotten too deep as a result but that's not Eds fault!

Met Mike & Ed briefly at the Classic Car show in Birmingham last year - Ed you are a giant in more ways than one. Good luck in your new ventures

Makes you wonder why Mike Brewer didn't jump ship along with Edd, maybe start anew just the two of them, a little like Clarkson and co did. Or maybe Mike didn't have the nerve or knowledge ?. The last couple of series stateside, were definately no where as good as when Attaboy were producing them, that started the slippery slope, and Edd decided he wanted out ?

Yep, seen the show many times and most times I just skipped forward to the Edd segment.

I had a round of shakes though when they would end the show sitting on the hood and fenders; especially of a 928. Maybe I'm the only cringer...Bruce

Well they are now running "best of" clips on Wheeler Dealers. Putting 5 to 10 cars in a show and spending all of 5 min on repairs. Terrible.
