We'll be discussing whether to move Camp 928 to the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs, during the high season. By the way, a major car auction is being developed for Saratoga, to be held on the same stage as the summer homes of the NYC Ballet and Phil. Orchestra (I'm guessing that most of you guys would prefer the ballet). https://www.saratogaautoauction.org . The museum is currently displaying some of the more notable consignments.
Those driving up I-87 (the "Northway") will experience what our town supervisor describes starting at 2:00 in this video:
. He's not thinking about those last two exits as an owner of an autobahn cruiser might, but once off Exit 25, you'll want to slow down and enjoy the relaxed pace of a small town.
On the master schedule for today: draft a schedule of events, and clean the shed.

Two weeks out. The swag items are all here or on their way, including the shirts. The Official Flaky Attendance Prediction algorithm says we'll have 32 cars. Just registered: John Schafer with his class-winning race car - some of you met him at the parade laps we did at Frenzy last year. He lives in Lake George.
I'd like everyone to bring something for show-and-tell - maybe we'll put it on the schedule, or maybe it can just be something for the campfire. An unusual tool, a busted part with a story, a book, something about yourself - whatever.
I took my car to the local car hop last night, held at The Hub. We're going to be crashing the next one, on the Friday of our weekend at the "P-House" - the muscle car guys won't be able to ignore us! We'll go to The Hub Saturday night for some craft beer - the owner is expecting us.

Hi Curt,
I have put off registering while working on my 928, it's now almost ready. If the 928 fails me we may show up in a 924S, if that is OK. Or (shame) a Yaris if all else fails...
What is the registration fee now that we have passed May 27? I take it that the fee is per person not per 928.
We plan on camping, is there still space available at your place or should we be looking at campgrounds?
Will you have name tags where we can write our Rennlist handles and real names?

elgy: Good luck with your car, but come with or without it. Might be good to have a 924 at the car show - I hope to have a variety of Porsches to illustrate how the 928 fits into the history.
I've been waiting on the fee change until the shirt situation became more clear. But I've just now changed the payment page - the fees are reduced $15, but does not include the polo shirt. I have extras at the moment - embroidered and blank - but I'm uncertain about how many late registrants there will be. If a bunch come in soon, I might be able to get more embroidered done quickly.
I also clarified the fee: per car at this point.
Lots of tent space available; choice of busy or quiet locations. I'll be setting up three family-sized tents of my own for general crashing. I have some cots available, too. I kinda expect that those coming for just the day will be having so much fun they'd rather crash here than head home late in the dark. They should put a sleeping bag, their meds and a tooth brush in the car.
Every person AND every car will get a printed name tag, with handle, car year/color, and home town. I have the requisite system set up from another event, so it shouldn't be any trouble.

I'm making up a schedule of events today, and pondering topics for discussion/demonstration. How about someone talk about the little items for fixing things on the road. In particular, a proper kit of relays and jumpers, and how to use them. Can someone volunteer for that? Perhaps make up some jumpers on the spot. Basic, but I'm a good target for this education myself.
Volunteers on other topics?
I think we'll have a short discussion panel at the car show Saturday afternoon. One topic: value trends. What others?
Some particularly knowledgeable expert(s) might want to volunteer to explain the 928 to members of the public. I hope to recruit a 356 and an early 911 owner to bring their cars. I'll have my '82 911 there, at least.

One week to go. I hope to get the schedule, fun run maps and other information on the website tomorrow. Registered attendees: look for an email blast tomorrow.
I've been holding back on a room available inside our studio, one or two beds - it may still go to someone with special needs, but it looks open at the moment. I'll be setting up two or three tents, with cots. Last-mnute decision-makers who bring a sleeping bag will be all set, one way or another. I think the Pine Tree may have had a cancellation....
Last week was "Woof Stock" here, a strange combination of Woodstock and dogs - makes the town kinda busy. This weekend, Americade is on, a gigantic motorcycle rally in Lake George. This is why Camp 928 is June 16-18. If Camp 928 takes off, rest assured Lake George has the capacity for it.

Camp Address please, I am up in the Catskills Starting Friday at our AFrame Mountain home, for the weekend for mountain jam but would like to stop in and take the run to Chester with my Buddies Alex,Thom and Panos on Saturday. Unfortunately my 928 is running border line hot and the AUX fan is DOA as of today amongst other issues. So I will volunteer and run Point in front of the group in my Dodge Challenger Shaker R/T Hemi and divert Smokey from you all and take one for the team. There will always be a Porsche and a Hemi in my Garage, Oak Green Metallic one is my current one. Will be up for sale next month if anyone is interested .

Long runner: We'll be happy to see you. Address and other information you need is on the website, http://camp928.com .
Take a look at I-87 in satellite view, and you'll see certain features of interest. Note also that there are police barracks in Chester (Exit 25) and in Schroon Lake (Exit 28). I will be alerting the authorities in hopes that if they have any complaints, they'll let me know before taking other actions.

Camp 928 Headquarters is at 192 White Schoolhouse Rd. / Chestertown, NY 12817.
Everyone will get an emergency contact card. The idea for this came to me due to an anxious moment at Frenzy last year.
We'll have at least one car-hauling trailer here, and a truck to tow it.

That thought has entered my mind many times. It would definitely be unique, don't think I have heard of anyone putting a Hemi in a 928 yet.Would have to be a non rare run of the mill donor 928 though.Because it would definitely have the Wheels driven off of it!
