I just bought Leatherique Prestine Clean kit from parts geek , I probably should have waited to hear feed back. A friend of mine used it on his 928 and said it worked great and showed me before and after pics .

Leatherique works very well, I've used in with excellent results on three different cars now.

Those recommending Nivea are forgetting that before applying such a product, the leather should be thoroughly cleaned first, which is one of the two bottles of the leatherique process which is why I like it.

I have two tins of the Nivea German, tested it on some new leather boots and appears to do nice work. I'll be testing it on some seats this winter.

I clean with any leather cleaner, then moisturize with mothers.
leather cream (similar to Niviea)

I've used Lexol cleaner and conditioner on only my seats thus far. I like it. I also used Sonus but didn't like the smell and the leather was more dried out and not as soft as the Lexol.

I've read a lot of good things on the Leatherique products. My impression was that they are the Cadillac of leather conditioners.

The German Nivea is intriguing. Need to try that on the leather on my rear panels, which are very dry.

I've had the opposite result.

I spent about $100 on Leatherique cleaner & conditioner to do the dry/hardened leather on my '82 seats. Worked it in by hand, enclosed the seats in black plastic trash bags, let them sit in the sun to let the product work, etc. Zero appreciable improvement. Would have had more satisfaction flushing $100 down the toilet (and much less effort).

In my experience Leatherique was a complete waste of time and money. YMMV.

Pretty much the same experience here.

What ended up working for you?

+ 1 for ColorPlus Soffener as a leather treatment agent.

Since I had colored my seats with ColorPlus Surflex, I only use Soffener after speaking with Joanne the proprietor at ColorPlus. I have used German Nivea on wife and kids cars and the result has been good.

Not every product is going to work in every application. I used it on the front seats of my mothers Jaguar, fathers Ferrari, and both F/R in my Scirocco - results were awesome. I'm sure there is a point where the leather is so far gone you need something stronger or maybe even multiple applications (I did two on the Scirocco, second session was noticeably better). Also, these three cars, and multiple other "test" were with one order of Leatehrique. I'm still impressed how far it went and I still have enough to do two more seats.

On thing to note, some 928's have vinyl seats, not leather and Leatherique doesn't do squat on vinyl (I tried).

Same goes for paint products. People ask me all the time what I used to detail cars and I can never give a straight answer. I have literally dozens of products and use them all in various applications depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.

I switched to Gliptone a couple years ago based on a Rennlist thread. Very happy and it has the "baseball glove" smell. About $15 for the set on Amazon.
