Awesome Scott. Makes me feel so lazy and slow as compared to you. I love the color of your car! Great purchase

Scott is definitely a 928 addict now! The fact that he has taken a non running neglected car, bought it for a song, and now has it running and driving makes me question if he sold his soul...... LOL. Just kidding Scott. Absolutely fantastic job so far. I'm extremely happy for you.

Ummm...selling your soul comes later. When you REALLY start buying parts.

LOL. True. I need one of these, and 5 of those, and three of these, and, and, and, etc.... Just put it on my credit card Jeannie! (or Roger, or whomever your supplier is.) What do you mean it's maxed out?!?! LOL. Been there, done that.

Then there's: "Its HOW much?!?! For that little part?!?"

Looking forward to tax return time. That means:
-Greg Brown fuel lines
-Porken S300s EZF and LH chips
-Porken WOT-Pot
-rebuilt MAF
-Blink'r
-and...the list never ends.

I would assume Scott has a running wish list.

Mine is slowly turning more cosmetic (did not expect that this soon). I am going to teach myself sanding and body prep and probably go ahead and paint sooner than later. I think I have a reasonable offer to do the seats.

Still have plenty mechanical to do, but it is looking better since I don't have major engine, clutch or transmission work to do.

Man my wish list dollar amount would probably equal the value of a high end collector car! I'm betting I could EASILY get to six figures (before the decimal) without even breaking a sweat. LOL.

Default Intake refresh progress

So I have ordered all the parts for the intake refresh and wanted to show a little progress.

The pics below are of intake disassembly, the mess underneath them, and the cleaning process thus far.

I have also cleaned the throttle housing (looked about like the vee garbage) as well as the oil fill assembly. Had no idea it was actually silver.

Will post more when the parts arrive and reassembly can start.

What did I find other than the sludge...?

1) Couple of disconnected/loose vac lines. Hopefully new will clean things up.
2) 2 of 3 mounting isolators for throttle assembly were broken off
3) Several brittle/hard hoses in the Oil evap and vacuum system
4) SOME vac lines had actually been replaced and the rubber was soft (so some work had been done at some point)
5) Oil separator to block gasket might as well have been a board...stiff as can be. No gasket on top cover of separator, so hopefully between the two I will stop the oil leak into the valley
6) Oil separator was barely tightened to the block

So hopefully the cleaning and adjustment and replacement of soft lines will result in a smoother running and clean ride for awhile.

Great progress Scott!, your doing all the right stuff, should run a lot smoother when you get it back together with all the vacuum leaks fixed!

Great job Scott!!!! As I've said amongst the "Upstate 928 Trio", this car is extremely lucky that you have come along and saved her.
