I have absolutely no connection to this, I just thought it was worth posting. I'm soooo tempted, but 2 928's & a divorce in progress is enough drama for me right now. It is posted in a local weekly sale magazine called the "Want Advertiser". I think the seller is a dealer or garage. The magazine is for private sales only, but they allow dealers to list in separate sections. Again, I know nothing of this car or seller. Please post if you get any info, I'm curious. There are no pictures. The ad reads as follows:
"83 Porsche 928. V8, 5-spd. Runs. No title. $1500/bo; Call Mike or Rich 8AM-6PM (Worcester MA) 508-798-9727

As a general statement most states you cannot sell a car or JUNK it without a title ....at a minimum you need a good paper trail transfering ownership and or filing for a duplicate title .......... the reason cars have titles is to convey OWNERSHIP with out a title there is no good transfer of ownership .

basically even if you pay $ for it, you technically don't own it...and if a lawyer decides to come after you, not only will you lose your money AND parts, but may also incur penalties/charges and legal expenses.
transport companies require at least a signature by the shipper or receiver...and that in itself is a liability....just my observation though. I could be wrong

Negative on the no title. Here in New Hampshire, if a car is more than ten years old there is no title. Perhaps from the days when Detroit iron lasted only 5 to 10 years in value. For example my 86.5 has no title and hence could not be financed. A bill of sale does the trick, register it and its yours. MA may be the same.
New Hampshire, the way America used to be, and should be.

Not too fast GT, I love NH also, but big brother is slowly creeping into the state. The title law is now 15 yrs. Its 89 & up now and will sit at 15yrs. At least we are still avoiding the emissions testing!!

I saw it... That car has been left outside with the windows down and the hatch open for years. All the fenders and hood are creased, and it sports 924 wheels, I think.

I just drove Scot Graham's 82 with the euro intake, race car!
It is Smoking fast!! 2680lbs, 230ish rear wheel hp and it ROCKS. everybit as fast as my old part euro 4.7 race car. Scot ran a 1:57 at Sears! this would have been top 5 time in the old BMW Porsche races we had several years ago. Put it in perspective, Mark Anderson ran his first time at sears with his 6.5 liter 420hp 928, with R1 tires and ran a 1:51.8. Scot is not that agressive either. rarely takes those big chances. Not bad for a $2000 car he saw on the side of the street!
shows the potential of the older 928s!!!
