I know that smell. The '88 track car has it. Hopping into the car after months of hibernation isn't unlike poking your head into a teenager's hockey bag that wasn't aired out after a tournament.

Registration for this year's Frenzy has been very strong. We currently have 64 attendees + 34 guests signed up. Wow!
I've noticed a lot of new names. I think we have over a dozen first-time Frenzy participants this year. That's great! So, for those of you that have been talking up Frenzy to the new 928 owners you've met - good job. It worked!
For the Friday evening reception at Holiday Inn, parking for over 50 cars will be challenging, as usual. The Holiday Inn staff will put cones near the main entrance to reserve 30 to 40 spots for us, but that's the best they can do with the limited space they have. So, some of us will end up parking on the entrance road or around the side of the hotel, just like we've had to do in previous years.
For Saturday's events, we have ample parking at Franklin Park, and room for more. So no problem at all there.
On Saturday afternoon, almost all of our group will be heading to the Lovettsville Oktoberfest. As Jon mentioned previously, he has negotiated a very nice parking area for our 928s that is on the Green right near the event area. However, we have now reached the maximum number of cars that we can fit there. This means that anyone who registers from this point on will need to park in one of the regular parking areas and take the free Trolley to the main event area. Don't worry, you'll still have a great time at Oktoberfest and at Frenzy. So don't let this keep you from signing up if you want to come and just didn't get around to registering yet.

Gosh, it seems a little risky, long term, to be hassling a couple of heroic volunteers, who may be reluctant to hassle other folks who are graciously providing special - but necessarily limited - parking privileges. They probably have a detailed map of where venders and others are setting up - asking them to change it for us at this late date will invite antagonism.
Instead, we could double up in some cars. I'd be happy to do this, but I'll be taking shortcuts to get video. Maybe I could use a driver/navigator....

I would also feel pretty bad if all of my friends (and brothers) couldn't park together.

As in the past, my guess is that a few won't be going to the gtg after the main event and some my opt to ride shotgun, so the majority of folks - if not all will have a spot at the Green. If we reach capacity, those who do end up parking off-site can always grab a ride from someone who has a spot at the Green. Also, we're a very flexible and accomodating group. There will be some who'd be willing to give their spot up at the Green to someone who was late to register but was really looking forward to their car having a spot.
Let's not forget that the cap on parking isn't for the Frenzy event - it's for the optional Oktoberfest gtg after we meet at Franklin Park (where we'll all be able to park together).

I don't see where there was any "hassling" of our Frenzy coordinators. The limited amount of spaces at Octoberfest was not previously mentioned, that I could recall, before Greg's post. I was just pointing out that I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my car in a public parking area, away from most of the other Frenzy 928's and trolley in. I think there are others who feel the same.
I would also feel pretty bad if all of my friends (and brothers) couldn't park together.

I totally agree with you.
I would not park my car away from the main event neither.
I think that we should all parked together.
I would not like to be the one left outside the group.
And I don't want ANYBODY to be in that situation.
Don't worry brother, you won't drink alone.
