clutch hose
Well the pressure clutch hose on the GT is starting to leak. I had replaced it back in 2000 as part of preventive maintenance. Can't believe it only lasted 16 years
Anyone know the actual difference between the 80-86 hose (928.423.177.03) and the 87-95 (928.423.077.07) hose besides the silly price tag?

Do yourself a favor and order my one piece hose that eliminates the steel hard line under the starter and the flexible hose. My hose re-routes the whole thing around the front of the starter (with the main electrical cable) and ends the fight with the starter motor, makes it far easier to pull the clutch slave, and allows simple downhill reverse bleeding. And fits much better with headers.
It's so much better, you will stand there and wonder why they made it the way they did, in the first place.

I second what Greg said , I have installed 15 of these lines and every one is a no muss easy bleed.
To bleed the clutch.
Make sure reservoir if close to full,
after you have installed the new line.
With the slave in its installed position, open the bleeder and let gravity purge the air, once no bubbles.
Remove the slave then let it fully extend,
hold it so the fluid port is at the highest point of the dangling slave,
gently push the rod all the way into the bore and hold for about 20 seconds ,
release the push rod
it should fully extend
then repeat this 3 more times, working slowly.
once done install the slave into the bell housing,
put a dab of hi temp grease onto the rod tip.
Test your work you should have a great working clutch.
NOTE also make sure the release arm bushing is good

I would of done gregs line too in my recent drivetrain rebuild, but i wanted a stock look.
It way easier to deal with the whole thing when assembling the lower bellhouse, the slave, and the starter off the car.

Got Greg's clutch hose installed on the S3 and its absolutely like butter...such a great investment....clutch has never felt better....here's some pretty bad pics of it....
Hose being routed in front of starter...sorry for lousy pics...
