just start using it to ride the brakes....helps keep them "warmed up" and confuses drivers behind you.....

You'll get spoiled by the significantly lower noise and stress with the 2.20 S4. For all legal and most super-legal speeds in the US, it will have more than enough giddy-up.

The ride to Monterey needs to include a departure from I-5, west across the valley to pick up (IIRC) G46 from 101 at King City into the top of the Carmel Valley. That drops you on to Hwy 1 at north of Big Sur at Carmel, a bit south of the Monterey peninsula.

Coming back, pick up 33 around Taft and go towards Ojai and on to Santa Barbara, then south on 101 towards Oxnard, then the coast route through Malibu and the south bay beach cities to home in San Pedro.

OK we made it!
Time to come clean, this is Speedtoys car. :-) I have the honor of delivering to him up here, and enjoying some club NASA (not the space kind) racing, then a flight back in a bonanza on sunday after more racing!

SO my impressions of the Roger box.....

Smooth and plodding. She soaked up the hills of the grapevine on I-5 and purred along the highways just fine. My body just did not know what to do without a clutch. this was also my first time in a long trip in an S4. not a whole lot different than my 81.

just like when i drove my 81 across the country to get to LA from Ohio, this car just purred along. was a pleasure to drive.

That makes sense, he doesn't know how to drive a manual.
