If it's a good-running car, the ask is reasonable, since you'd easily spend $3k-$4k making a $6k car into a good runner.
That wing is fricken' hideous, and whoever put it on needs a kick in the junk. If you win, please make removing that wing Job 1!

Saw this at Elevation Motors outside of Denver. 89 5sp with 25k miles. Owned by a lady, black on black, looks to be very original. Dealer said he has a huge stack of service records from her, and it was just serviced by Porsche. I opened the hood and found one air tube on backwards haha. That's what you get when you take one of these to Porsche to be worked on. I fixed it for the guy, couldn't let that stand.
Really sweet car, they just got it so it hasn't been priced but he said somewhere in the 40s most likely.

Yes, because of a shorter final ratio right? I'm very, very tempted, but I've done so much work on my 87 I finally have it to where it is very sound mechanically and all the little things are fixed. Here's another shot of it.

a sorted 87 is nice,
but a 89 GT is about as pinnacle as you can get esp wit 25K miles.

The red 85 on BAT is Bill K.'s car from the Woodlands. I talked to Paul W. today and he mentioned that Bill was selling. His ID is Billtool here, but not sure if he still posts. It's an impressive car in person, but of course a few things to sort out.

I understand the market has moved to pristine examples, but there are still some great projects out there if you are willing to put in the work. I have enough projects so I am passing on one that I have been assembling.
Lets call this a race car starter project.
1979 5spd. LSD. No Sunroof. VIN 9289201364. 7x,000 miles on the odometer.
No interior, but I have installed a leather wrapped dash and a pod that is shod in some nice suede.
Runs well, smog says it is rich. but it passed visual fine. Everything is in place.
Previous owner did a bunch of stuff to make the CIS work well, and it starts up every time. I believe it included a rebuild fuel distributor and WUR.
Shifts - well, it has the usual bulkiness to the 5spd. I installed an early version of a shifter mechanism that removes the front rod. So direct, but still troublesome.
S brakes
No headlights.
Removed the ignition switch, but keys work in the door and hatch. It has a master switch and also accessories and fuel pump on a panel in the center console.
Rev counter works but the rest of the gauges were not priority for me.
Signals work
Brake lights work.
Brake balance plumbed into rear for adjustment.
I did extensive bodywork to get it all smooth. Shaved the headlight sprayers.
Removed the rub strip holes if I recall.
It has these 18" Porsche wheels on there now.
$1500.00
I have some "Spares" depending on what someone was looking for:
4.7 engine with rebuilt and reworked heads. - 700 dollars
GB rebuilt early transmission with rebuilt LSD in it. 3500.00
Rebuilt Torque Tube - 500.00

Yes, that violet car Makes a stunning impression in the pictures. It was for sale somewhere near Munich in about 2011, and I wanted to go look at it. It sold quickly though. I was not aware of the fact that it was a repaint.
