I know this car and the owner reasonably well. I also know at least a dozen people (including myself) who could super charge it, not sure who is willing/wanting to do it for others. I also personally know maybe 3 who know how to Turbo it (if they are willing to do more). If you want a monster, get this car in Indy, take it to Cincy and have Kuhn twin turbo it.

If you have serious interest in this car, please start a different thread (or PM me) so not to hijack this thread. If you want, I can follow up with Hans and Evan, a couple local experts, about blowing it for you. Hans has personally design SC systems and Evan has fabricated and or installed both SC and Turbos on 928's and others. Evan is a local favorite 928 independent (works for himself) mechanic.

Seems like a interesting car. Limited pictures seems the norm on Craig L...

I don't see how this car will hit close to $40k in order to avoid losing money on it though.
Not sure why did ended up doing a top end refresh and selling it immediately.

This was a fantastic car when I had it. It’s one I wish I had kept. I don’t understand the big $$ service either. The MAF sensor and fuel system were great when I had it, although no harm in renewing some of those items either. No leaks or weeps. Not sure what the chain tensioners refers to but I replaced a perfect but older timing belt with a new one and while in there everything looked beautiful and new (there was only about 9k on the last timing belt and water pump service at the time). Regardless, it looks spectacular now and I sure wouldn’t mind having back in my garage.

he had his valve covers redone and I think he did the chain tensioner pads while he had the covers off. Nice. But I much prefer the ‘89 black manual with lower miles. I already have a low mile irisblau perfect car.

Buy a nice Calif car, then spend the money to to mechanicals, then sell it because you can not get it out of 3rd due to Miami traffic???? How about getting up early on Sunday and drive it the way it was meant to be driven.....That will be much more satisfying than trying to flip it at a loss...

LOL. Yup.
Who did the top-end refresh? I hope they put the cam covers on right-side up.

Okay, this is worth a serious look for anyone out on the west coast. Looks like a light engine fire due to fuel lines but looks like a really nice car prior to fire. Sport Seats, no rubs, likely a competition package. H4 headlights, 5 speed. Too far for me to want to ship it but I really like this car! 928s have been very strong at the salvage sales. Someone needs to save this one

So sad to see fire damage...been there! Car overall looks good and as you say, comp package, H4's etc. I wonder how this auction works and when. It's not far from me. Great to see Mark Anderson get it. Hard to figure out what it's worth
