I see two usa manual cars without side moldings, sport seat cores, tools, a yellow button blaupunkt, some phone dials, a pair of G28/08 cores, clutch parts, etc.

optimism...the path to your own personal junkyard.

That does look tempting.... does that make me a sucker?

What would it take to pass CA smog?

I have a ton of experience buying from Copart and IAA etc. I buy daily and I have even purchased a couple 928 parts cars over the years.
Be advised of the following:
1. Car will be manhandled at the yard. Expect at a minimum paint damage to front and rear bumpers
2. Just because they say they have keys doesn't mean you will ever actually get them.
3. There is always shading business. Some of these cars were not in the best of shape before the flood and some are not even insurance claims. I have seen a few cars purchased from last year's Houston flooding being resold as fresh floods this time around. Check carfax and always look for an insurance company name on the auction listing.
4. Don't forget the fees and transport costs. Expect to spend 500 to a 1000 on top of bid price assuming you are a licensed ask for. If not, expect to pay even more.

I am not a bidder on this car and just trying to be helpful.

All USA cars are the same and originally CA legal so it should need nothing unless stuff was removed.

I use to live in Calabasas and now live just down the road. Depending on when, I could stop by and look at the car for you. I have a 84 928 euro and 83 928, so I have a little knowledge about the cars.
Let me know if you want me to take a look

That estate sale was last month, Sept 29th, 30th, and Oct 1st. I'm sure the cars are gone by now.

If not, they must have a high price to keep nice looking ones like those available.

sounds like there may be some interests but either there are not many offers or they are low. They are taking offers until 10/21.

I called the person you provided and the cars are located in Palmdale CA. The estate auction was in Calabasas. She said they are taking highest offer and will end on 10/21.
Sorry I couldn't go and check them out for you.
Best of luck.
