Is that a Euro rear fog light on a US car?

That may be the worst rust I've ever seen on a 928, including my old white car.

1985s with 58k. Been for sale off and on if I remember. Looks ultra clean. Title in ad indicates a supercharger but no mention in description.

I didn't see mention of a supercharger. Sub-woofer, yes. V.I.N. # is wrong.
Interesting if the description is true. $21K for an '85 very rich.

Located in beautiful Bucks County in Philadelphia suburbs and it was such a nice drive with my '79 petrol blue. The contact person is the son selling for his father. Checked the car out yesterday and this is what I found:

1. He fixed the ad stating from '78 to '79.
2. His father owned the car since new and drove it extensively for work (traveling consultant) then his mom took over driving it sparingly 20 years ago until her passing 6 months ago. His father has a good number of cars but only one Porsche!
3. Has had 2 water pump changes, last being ~5 years ago, and 3-4 muffler replacements (lifetime warranty ) but last one was an ANSA.
3. He already has an offer that is more than what I would pay, and I told him to take it. Hopefully the offer is good.

Good:
1. No accident hx
2. Electronics work
3. Started up immediately and sounds good
4. Trunk looks like has never been touched: sparetire cardboard is in perfect condition, and so is the orange bulb container. Complete tool kit and air compressor, but the tool kit lift taps are broken off.
5. AC compressor engages but it probably needs a recharge because it would stop after ~15 sec.
6. Rear seats are in nice condition, and so are the doors and interior rear quarters.
7. Both the owners and service manuals are in perfect pristine conditions.
8. Seller thinks there's the VDO tire pressure gauge and maybe another radio for it. His mother was the book-keeper and she organizes everything, so the father-son combo have had a hard time finding everything for this car.
9. Seller seems to have had done his homework and is reasonable and nice.

Not so good:
1. Rear bumper seems to have been resprayed. Seller thinks the front was due to paint wear.
2. Some rusts on the trunk lid as shown on the pics
3. Suspension bits have been coated by a layer of rusts thanks to the NE winters and salt!
4. front seats fabrics are gone
5. AC may not work
6. The radio surround on the left side may have a crack
7. Odometer is broken

I think the seller is realistic with the price (not the asking on his ad) and he has a "build-in" factor for the craigslist crowd. I told him that the offer he received over the phone is fair and he should take it. He is going to mull it over. I think he stated that at first, his dad was telling him, "Just get rid of it", but he showed his dad the recent run up in prices, so that's why he put up the asking price in the ads. He will wait until the end of the eBay ad to make a decision.

If the car was not in sibermetallic, I may have made an offer.

Hope this helps any Rennlister interested in the car.

I am literally around the corner from this. Thanks for the details, Hoi. Seems like a nice car. If it was a stick with a odd color, I dare say I would arm wrestle you for it. Love that un warped headliner and those nice rear quarter trims!

8500 would be the money in my book, but as you said, his price is not out of line.

Well - Wednesday came a went and still nothing. I left a couple of messages and have had no response thus far. I find this to be really odd. Who would just blow $1250 like that. I just don't get it.

Maybe its a sign that I really need to just keep the car.

Hopefully all goes well for you. I love your car!
Definitely the same guy - Southern Cal guy who mentioned owning another Porsche - Gotta be him

Really odd - What gives with these people ?

Hopefully, he's not "in" with BaT drumming up enthusiasm for their auctions...

Look at what just popped up on Hemmings to be auctioned off in UK?
Just sold on BaT for $10k (about 3k over what it was worth).

Or the guy just has nothing better to do and accidentally won a car. Either way BAT should ban him and refund the listing fees, or re-list for free.
