In addition, please review our Successful Transaction Tips below to assist in finalizing the transaction.
Make contact with the buyer ASAP.
Always try to remain calm, friendly, and polite. The #1 reason we see car deals fall apart is not the car; it is disrespect or bad attitudes from the buyer or seller.
Provide a factual Bill of Sale when taking payment.
Provide a photocopy of the title if requested to justify payment.
Do not release the car or the actual title until you have full payment in hand.
We suggest Wire Transfers for payments.
We hope to hear a BaT Success Story from you in the coming days and weeks! Thanks again for listing your vehicle with BaT Auctions!"
Wonder if BAT actually got paid or if he cancels his card first....
Looks like you've done just that. Bet he goes underground... for a while. Hope the call out doesn't derail the M635 auction. Of course, it may have saved the seller going thru the same hassle as giddyupp, VanD, mdrager and who knows how many others.
Any suggestions for JNasty/InDaHills new handle when he resurfaces on BaT?
The worst thing is, his "winning bids" are just $250 above the otherwise legitimate bids that could've had the car sold. Such an A$$-HOLE. Costed people alot of money and time.
Isn't that the same car the was part of an estate sale in Illinois about three weeks ago? Someone posted about it here.
good memory! I think I was the one who posted it up about a month ago. Boy it must have been a score! Wonder if it was less than or greater than $5-8k?!

We appreciate the concern regarding the current high bidder, and love that the community looks out for each other. We are in contact with InDaHills, and are monitoring the situation with the 928S ourselves.
We do not tolerate flake bidders, period. Should a bidder not follow through with their commitment to purchase, they will be banned from the site.
Let’s try and keep the discussion from here on focused on the car at hand.
Thanks!

I love this forum, you guys are amazing - as for BAT, I'm gonna give them the benefit of doubt for a couple more days - but to be honest my gut feeling is the whole BAT system stinks. Interesting they say they are "in contact with InDaHills" - they certainly have not been in contact with me. I had to contact them and they pretty much brushed me and my concerns off.

Reason: Forgot to mention
This looks real nice. 37K miles. Original paint and radio and says the original wheels are available. No price given which is annoying though. Also may be an 86.5 which would make it even nicer.

He refers interested buyers to check Hagerty Condition #2 for, which is 26.1k. I tend to find Hagerty overvalued cars a bit vs the real world market. The stick shift helps this car though. For example, my 70 Mach 1 is solid #3 if I'm being severely picky, but probably more like a 2.5 according to their guide. A #3 is about 36k , while a #2 is 46k. I paid 30k. It's also all about what someone is willing to pay too based on what else is out there at the time. The 928 is on my car bucket list, and I'm doing all the research I can to figure out which iteration is the best for me. It's fun seeing what's out there, but I won't waste anyone's time until I'm really ready to jump into the shark infested waters.

I did share what I knew (and about this RL thread) about SchmuckInDaHills with my contact at BaT and they were quite appreciative to learn the details. It sounded to me like they were being diligent. I dont know if that helps you at all, other than free you up to sell to another buyer. That said, he will probably show up again sometime as JackAssInDaUkraine or something.
What is amazing is that it is so easy to find who the individual most likely is, where he works etc. Google, Linkedin, Facebook are excellent resources and appear to identify this particular DB. Maybe there are reasons for the payment/completion failures but more than one seems odd.
1978 basketcase. Partially disassembled with questionable body work. Will probably need a strip and respray if you don't like a botched yellow paintjob and "widebody kit". No affiliation.
